Mahina's POV:
I woke up with the sounds of the opening of a current and felt the soft rays of the sun on my face making me cringe from being subtly woken up. I turned my body on the other side to get a little more sleep, but then someone when on me and shook me until I opened. Marianna, my beautiful little sister. She looked more like my dad whilst I looked more like my mom, at least, that's what my family and.. everyone said. I hate the fact she looks almost just like him, same eyes, same sheepish smile, same face, same hair. Everything except the fact they had different genders. Every time I look at her, I remember every times he beated me, abused me emotionally and mentally, he would hit me even when I begged him to stop, but I also remember the days where he was a father to me, before mom died. And before he died as well. Most of my family felt bad that I had to endure this alone and lose him when he was getting better. They think that's my most vivid memory, but they were so wrong. Every time Marianna would come and hug me or show affection, I remember the time where he almost assulted me.
I snapped out of my daydreams as my little troublemaker woke me up for good as snuggled onto me in bed. I saw my aunt nearby and chuckling as she witnessed us embracing. "I'm going to prepare breakfast alright, come downstairs soon and don't stay in bed too late, I have to talk to you and get Ria to school." She said before leaving. "Morning!" Marianna said, still as bubbly as ever. "Morning to you too Ria." I answered, smiling at her. She started telling me about how she slept really well because she had a dream about of a dolphin swimming out of the water and she could see the ocean from underneath with all the sea creatures inside and the sky was really bright and blue with a rainbow, a slim heart shaped cloud and balloons seen from afar. I chuckled as she described it too me. (Iyk, ily) "that's wonderful mittens" (iyk, ily #2) I replied, I then grabbed her and started tickling her, her soft laughter filling the room with joy. I was so happy to be with her.
I got out of bed and went to go shower and get ready. I put a floral dress, my favorite cardigan and Mary Janes with my white almost-transparent knee length socks. I went downstairs and found Marianna and auntie putting food on their plates, they both looked at me and smiled, "come eat sweetie, at least try to eat a little today." Auntie Rianna ordered, handing me a plate, I obeyed and took it. I took some fruits, eggs and two toasts with butter spread on it and took some orange juice. I was feeling particularly hungry today for some reason, I guess there was room for improvement. Rianna looked surprised at first and smiled. "You don't have to eat more than what you can eat, don't force yourself honey." She reassured. "Oh no, it's okay. Im feeling pretty hungry." I explained, I was used to starve myself to stay slim and it made me pretty underweight and so now I'm on a diet and have to eat all three meals including snacks during the day, but I could eat as much as I felt like eating, what mattered to them is that I would gradually start eating normally again.
I looked at Ria's plate and saw it was practically full. It had a few fruits, a lot of fried eggs and toast with, of course, a big full glass of orange juice. "You sure you can eat all of that Marianna?" I teased my sibling. "I totally can!" She proudly stated, "oh? Is that the case? Okay, if you don't finish everything, then I'll eat it all." I jokingly said, but of course, with siblings, everything is a competition. "Hey!! Don't underestimate me! I will be able to finish it!" She said while starting to eat her food. She infact couldn't finish everything and got really sad that I would eat it, but I just laughed it off and put the rest in her lunchbox so she could eat the remainings at school if she was hungry before lunch which made her happy that I didn't infact eat her food. After Marianna got to school, me and my aunt drove back home. "I enrolled you to a new school." She immediately told me, not wanting to beat around the bush.
