In the second story, Luca notices a strange man watching some kids. Earl just stands there, and when another kid joins them, he watches him too. Luca thinks about confronting him, but doesn't. Near the end of the book, Luca notices Earl from earlier getting into a Springtrap suit. He sees him following the kids. Luca realizes this is exactly what William Afton did. Luca, while still weak and dying, tries to save the girl that Earl followed into the kitchen. Earl grabs the girl but Luca jumps in and tackles him, allowing the girl to escape. Luca strangles Earl to death, and then he falls over and dies too.
