Disclaimer: This is a very long chapter compared to the last so ~ happy reading!!
My mouth dropped in shock again, this keeps happening doesn't it? The lobby of the area we walked to is basically a golden ballroom design with Greek pillars and all types of flowers you can think of. The ceiling is decorated with French style ceiling paintings and in the middle there is a humongous sparkling chandelier built for royalty. If this is just the lobby, I can't imagine what the actual ballroom will look like. I may not love this event, but I have to give the designers credit where it's due.
"Am I dreaming?" Celestia says while looking around in awe.
Unfortunately, to keep us reality checked, there was a huge banner of the USA Flag hung from the front right side of the wall. What was new to me was the banner of the Kunai people, which im assuming it is. It was a royal blue circle with an elegant bracket design on top of it and the middle of the circle stabbed with three black scratches. It was brutal yet elegant, I wonder what their history was.
"I hope this is all one big dream." I say in response.
She laughs at my response and then starts heading toward the line outside the huge doors where two people in suits are standing in front of, both with notebooks. The line was filled with gorgeous girls in all types of gowns and dresses.
I felt like I was in "The Selection" by Kiera Cass. The difference being, I do not want to fight multiple women for one man, or any man.
The two men in suits at the front were the "bouncers" who checked our names on their list and gave us each a dance card. This is so giving old European culture. I'm kind of excited though, I've had countless dreams of being able to dress up and enjoy an evening at a ball.
I may not love being here, but I'll enjoy as I can while being a wallflower as much as possible.
We enter through the golden doors and my eyes dart everywhere to take in everything. My eyes land on another pair of eyes across the dancing floor from me. I am staring at one of the Kunai men my brain registers. He happens to have deep purple eyes, over 6ft tall, with a lean to normal build. As I realize I'm staring, my eyes dart away immediately in embarrassment.
Stick to the mission Akira, be a wallflower the whole night. I know he was looking straight at me but I hide my interest as far away into my mind as I can.
Celestia and I go immediately to the side to take in everything. There is classical and a hint of jazz playing. The decoration and layout of the inside was so well done. Directly in the middle was a giant dancing area that was a little bit lifted off the ground with the lights being more prominent there. Off to the side there was a long table of refreshments and snacks. Off to another side, there were a bunch of chairs and tables.
The artistry of the place was just orchestrated beautifully.
Once I'm done ogling the place, we immediately walk to the snack and refreshments aisle like the big backs we are. After getting ready for so long, I didn't realize how exhausted I would get. We grab some drinks and snacks on our plates and head to the tables.
After we are seated at a table, we scout out the place to see how people are doing. There are a bunch of girls already speaking to the Kunai men and filling out their dance cards. Dam they got straight to action.
"Do you wanna start mingling with the crowd and ask around how it's going?" Celestia asks.
"Sure I'm kinda curious how interacting with another alien species is like." I respond. Is it not weird or scary to be speaking to a completely different species? I'm surprised so many girls warmed up to them so quickly.
