" Bye Mum! " I yelped in a high pitched voice to my Mum who was currently parked infront of the television watching Gilmore Girls and quietly folding a basket of freshly washed clothes. She looked back to face me who was ready to run out the door in my most pretty, pink, polka-dotted dress.

" Hold on there missy-moo! " She said in a childish voice while painting a bright smile on her face.

" Mummmmmm... I've gotta' go! " I groaned and reluctantly stomped over to her.

She took a knitted navy blue sweater off the pile of the pile of folded clothes, she then lifted it through my arms and over my head. I spent a few seconds re-adjusting the sweater so that it felt comfortable on me since it was slightly oversized.

" Awe you look so adorable in that sweater! " She squealed then wrapped her arms around me, pulling me into a tight inescapable hug.

" Okay now I've really got to go Mum!" I said attempting to push my way out of the bear hug.

She let go but then looked at me, her deep blue eyes which was shielded by her brunette bangs staring into my lighter blue pairs of eyes.

" I got so lucky with you didn't I Aria. " She said as genuineness was rich in her voice.

I smiled to that.

I hopped from one part of the path to the next making sure not to step on any cracks in the pavement my way to the park. I would usually rush off to the park the minute I'd finished lunch Mum said " It is too early to go to the park before twelve. " I loved the park, being around all the leafy greenery and the singing birds it was my form of heaven.

As I was approaching the swing set I usually swing on I saw a girl who looked around my age, she had darker clear skin, she wore a long sleeve blue shirt with shiny silver starts coating it and a normal pair of black trousers. Although her black coiled hair shielded her eyes I could already tell by her soft whimpers trying to be contained that she was crying.

" Hey... do you mind if I sit? " I said nodding my head towards to swing beside her.

Her head shot up and her hazel eyes were revealed to be swollen and glistening with fresh tears. She didn't reply for a moment, she was a little stunned to see someone else at the park because if I'm being completely honest it was very busted and worn down.

" O-oh! Go right ahead, it's not like I own the swings. " she stammered trying to wipe away the tears from her glossy eyes.

" Hey, are you okay?" I tried to offer my serenity.

She looked up at me, then back down at her red Velcro shoes which were barely hovering over the ground.

" No, but I don't want to go around burdening strangers." She said solemnly.

" I'm Arielle, I'm seven and I live down the road in the house with picket fence and pink mailbox." I point my finger over at my house which is barely in sight from where we are facing.

"I'm Harriet, I'm six and I don't really think I have a home anymore.." she sighed " Both of my parents caught The Flare, WICKED took them away." Tears welled up in her eyes again.
