“I got the king card, who has the joker?”
“Here, here! It’s Zhou Miao!”
As soon as his name was called, there was a burst of laughter.
“Finally, it’s your turn, Zhou Miao!”
“Hahaha! We’ve been waiting for this moment for so long!”
“Dare! It has to be a dare!”
The center of attention, Zhou Miao, sat on the couch with his legs spread wide, holding the joker card between his long fingers. He frowned as he looked at it for a moment, then said, “Bring it on.”
The person with the king card didn’t randomly pick a dare but instead drew a card from the game deck.
They read out the contents: “Kiss the fourth person to your left!”
“Who is it? Who’s the lucky one who gets to kiss the campus heartthrob?”
Everyone counted and eventually their eyes landed on me.
The atmosphere instantly grew quiet.
At that moment, I was lounging on the couch, and I caught sight of Zhou Miao’s frowning face.

After a long pause, someone finally spoke up, “How about we forget about it?”
“What? Can’t handle it? Why should we let it go?”
“Then switch partners? He’s a guy, and...”
Though she didn’t finish her sentence, everyone knew what she meant.
And besides—I'm into guys.
And Zhou Miao? He’s super homophobic.
The person who suggested changing partners was Yue Youyou, the entertainment chair of the student council, and everyone knew she had a crush on Zhou Miao.
Many agreed with her, but others opposed it:
“It’s just a dare! If you’re going to play, play properly! Kiss him!”
Once that was said, the energy in the room picked up.
Soon, more people started egging us on.
“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
I glanced over at Zhou Miao.
He was looking at me too.
But his eyes were a bit fierce.
I gave him a fake smile.
It was your choice to play Truth or Dare—why are you glaring at me? If you have the guts, just walk away!
In the next second, Zhou Miao abruptly stood up and stormed over to me.
I was startled.
Standing at nearly six feet three, he blocked all the light from reaching me.
I looked up; the pressure was intense.
He leaned down, like a tiger cornered, gritting his teeth as he asked, “Can I kiss you?”
