The hospital's sterile white corridors buzzed with the sound of hurried footsteps and low murmurs. It was past midnight when she was admitted, her face pale and her body limp. The doctors rushed her onto a gurney, working swiftly to stabilize her. The man who had brought her in, a stranger to her friends, stood in the corner of the emergency room, watching quietly as they wheeled her away.

He reached for her phone, scrolling through the contact list before landing on a name. With a sigh, he pressed the call button and waited as the phone rang.

Saif groaned as his phone buzzed, disturbing his sleep. Seeing the number he rushed to pick up the call, and as he pressed it to his ear, the unfamiliar voice on the other end jolted him awake.

"Hello?" Saif said, his voice still groggy.

"Are you Saif?" the man on the other side asked. "I'm calling from the hospital. I found your friend unconscious... you need to come here immediately."

Saif's heart dropped. "What? Who is this? What happened?"

"I'm just someone who brought her here. The doctors are running tests. You need to come quickly," the man said, his tone calm but urgent.

"Stay there," Saif said, his voice now shaking. "Don't leave until I get there." He hung up, the panic rising in his chest. He immediately dialed his friends' numbers, fingers trembling.

"It's her," he said as soon as one of them picked up. "She's in the hospital. I don't know what happened, but I'm heading there. Call the others. Let them know. Tell someone to inform her parents."

He barely waited for a reply before he jumped out of bed, grabbed his car keys, and sped out into the night. His mind was racing as he drove, thoughts swirling as he tried to piece together what might have happened. What had she been going through? Why hadn't she called him for help? He cursed himself for not being there earlier.

The hospital loomed ahead, its bright lights cutting through the darkness. Saif parked haphazardly and ran inside, his heart pounding in his chest. The stranger was standing in the hallway near the entrance, his expression unreadable.

"She regained consciousness a little while ago," the man said when he spotted Saif. "The doctors are still running some tests to see what's wrong."

Saif didn't respond; he couldn't think of anything to say. Instead, he rushed past the man and headed toward her room, a sense of dread filling him. He had no idea what he was going to find, but the thought of her in pain made his stomach turn.

When he reached the room, he hesitated for a second before pushing the door open. She was sitting up in bed, her hair messy and her face pale. When her eyes met his, she broke down. Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed uncontrollably.
