"I can't believe you have me doing these stupid pirouettes like a puppy dog." Diana tells Rebekah as she changes into her cheer uniform. "It's not for long. Plus, it's not my fault we're 1000 year olds in the bodies of teenagers." Rebekah answers, leaning against the door of the bathroom stall.

"Because it was your mother's idea...what about Sasha?" She asks as she opens the door. "What about her?" Rebekah asks in confusion. "Well, who's going to pick up my 12 year old from school?" They stand there for a moment and Diana scoffs while taking the pom-poms. "Some genius you are."

On the field, Rebekah is with the rest of the cheerleading squad at practice, doing a series of gymnastic moves, when Elena walks up to her. "You! Goody."

"I was hoping we could talk."

"About what? Stefan? Don't worry, I'm off him until he starts treating me better. In fact, you should probably take a page out of my book, if I'm being honest."

"Actually, I'd rather talk about this." She holds up a photo of Rebekah's name written in Runic on the cave wall. "I'm curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years running from your father."

Diana's head shoots up, realizing what they're talking about. Of course, no one knows who she is. She's just the 18 year old friend of Rebekah...times 100. "I should get back to the girls. Homecoming's right around the corner." Rebekah says as she turns to leave.

"Well then, maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him."

"You're bluffing! You don't know where he is. No one does."

"So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte?"

"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed!"

"So then, tell me."

"Why do you want to know?"

"Why don't you want me to wake him?"

"I need to get back to the girls." Rebekah turns and walks back towards the squad, shaken by what she's heard.

Flashback...

A then 17 year old Diana was walking with Rebekah, carrying the bits of vegetation they could find. "Let me help you with that." Rebekah says as they trade bags, giving her the lighter one. "You don't have to..." Diana says as she picks up Rebekah's pick. "It's not a burden."

"You're carrying my brother's child, of course it's a burden." This earns a chuckle from Diana. "Niklaus isn't all that bad..." Rebekah gives her a look. "Okay, he is. But not all the time."

"I truly need your level of patience one day. I just don't understand why they married you off to Nik and not to Elijah."

"My dad said he was too old." Rebekah furrows her brows. "But he's only 25."

"And Nik is 19, hm?" They walk back to the camp where Nik and Elijah are having fun swordfighting. "Oh look, our sister has arrived to watch my fast approaching victory!" Elijah states confidently.

"On the contrary, Elijah..." He swings the sword and cuts Elijah's belt off his waist. "She's come to laugh at you!" Esther and Mikael approach their children as the children all laugh together. Nik goes up to Diana and kisses her hand. "Shall I ask milady for a victory kiss?"

"Not in front of your parents." He looks over his shoulder to see his father approaching him. "So, why don't you teach me that trick, young warrior?" He begins to swordfight with Klaus. "Father, we were just having fun."

"We fight for our survival! And you find time for fun?! I want to have fun! Teach me! Come on!"

"Father, it was nothing..." Mikael disarms Klaus without effort and slams him on his back on the ground. He sets the sword at Klaus' throat. "You are foolish and impulsive, my boy. What? No more laughter?"
