Do not go gentle

In the living room, Klaus is being creative working on an abstract painting on an easel. Esther, who had possesed Rebekah, walks in. "What took you so long?"

"Alaric didn't want to hand over the stake." She shows him a stake, which was a decoy. "Luckily I'm quite the charmer."

"That's it?"

"The last of the white oak stakes that can kill us. Do you want to do the honors or shall I?" Klaus puts the paintbrush down, takes the stake from Rebekah/Esther and throws it into the flames in the fireplace. The flames flare up around the stake. "Well that's that then."

"Pack your bags, we're leaving."

"Today?"

"Why not? There's nothing keeping us here. We'll grab the doppelgänger and be off by sunset. The kids are already waiting for me back home."

"Home?"

"You know where. The only one who hasn't left is Diana and Sasha, yet."

"And with good reason. Tonight is the decade dance."

"So?"

"So, I'm head of the committee, we have to go."

"I'm not going to any dance."

"You know, Diana is still going, and I'd think she would love for you to be there...hm?"

"Since when do you care about matchmaking?"

"It's not matchmaking if the match was already made."

"Forcefully."

"Yet who are you waiting for? Please, I have big plans for tonight. Just go for me, at least."

"Okay, fine. One last hoorah."

"One last hoorah, Nik."

Sasha is walking down the hallway when she hears chatter in one of the rooms. Rebekah/Esther walks in as Alaric has finished his call with Damon. "Quite the cunning liar."

"Well Damon is too arrogant to think his only friend would betray him." Sasha peeks into the door. "Just as Niklaus would blindly accept an invitation from his beloved sister, unaware that he is heading to his own death." 

Sasha looks to the corner of the room and finds open caskets. Rebekah/Esther dips a silver dagger in a glass bottle of white oak ash. "Did you give him the stake?"

"He burned it without hesitation."

"So where's the real one?"

"You'll get it when it can no longer be used against me in this body." Rebekah/Esther opens a coffin revealing Esther's body. "So how do you..."

"How do I return to my true form? With a little magic and some help from a vampire hunter." Rebekah/Esther hands Alaric the silver dagger. Alaric stabs her in the heart and she collapses on the floor. A few moments later Esther gasps and wakes up in the coffin.

Sasha walks away before they realize that she saw Esther leave Rebekah's body. She knows she must do something...but when the time is right.

At the decade, Diana is dancing with Stefan. "Forgive me, my dear friend, but you are two left feet." She says to him as the miss yet another spin.

"Well, I've never been quite the dancer." Klaus shows up. "Maybe you would like a better dancer." Diana turns around. "Nik, I thought you'd be escaping with Bekah already."
