"Can I speak with you?" Ashley asked Jonathan softly. He stared at her for a while and nodded. He sat on the couch opposite her and relaxed on it.

"It's about Alex." Well, he knew that it was going to be about him anyway.

    "Hmm."

"Is there something I am supposed to know about him? I tried speaking with him but he only ignored me. I don't know what else to do."

"I feel guilty for causing a mess the other night but since that time, he just stays as far as he can from me. Do you perhaps know why? Maybe it's my imagination or..."

Jonathan cleared his throat, "Ashley, I don't want to say much about this because it's Alex's issue. But what I can tell you is that, at this point, I don't even know what to say. You are still young and...I just don't know, Ashley. Whatever your parents tell you or perhaps your sister tells you to do, you should hearken to that. It's probably for your safety." He concluded.

Jonathan didn't want to tell her to leave Alex when he knew that it wasn't the real solution and he couldn't ask her to stay when he wasn't sure how long Alex was going to continue like this.

"I don't understand what that is supposed to mean. Does he...?"

Before Ashley could say another word, the door flung open with Alex appearing wet. His eyes widened when he saw Ashley. The latter immediately stood up and so did his brother.

Jonathan frowned when he saw the expression on Alex's face which only came up once ever since he knew him. Alex looked behind him and quickly shut the door.

"What are you doing here?" He asked with a cold tone as he approached Ashley. She looked at Jonathan, hoping that he would be able to say a word regardless of the situation.

    "I came to see you..."

"Leave!" Alex ordered without even waiting for her to say a word.

Ashley was stunned and her face turned pale, "What? You...you want me to leave?" It was raining out there.

"Ashley, I won't repeat myself... leave this place now. I don't want to see you here again," Alex ordered again but during this confrontation, he wasn't looking at her straight in the eye, he had his eyes faced the ground.

Ashley's breath turned shaky and she licked her lips urgently.

"Was it because of that night? I am sorry, okay? You can just tell me that you have forgiven me and I will leave. Just say something." She pleaded urgently. She was a bit scared that his mental illness could be acting up.

Alex grabbed her by the arm and Ashley yelped because of the harshness. Jonathan held Alex's other hand to stop him from doing something bad but the latter glared at him.

"Don't interfere!" With this, he pulled Ashley towards the door, opened it, and with force, he pushed her out and shut the door. Ashley's heart sank immediately after the door was closed against her face. She was trembling and her palms were folded.

She never believed that such a day like this would come.

She couldn't help the tears that were flowing out of her eyes. She started crying and banging on the door. The rain had started pouring hard but Alex didn't open the door, nor did anyone answer her. She leaned against the wall and melted to the ground after a while as she sobbed quietly. The wind blew and rain fell hard - everything was on her.
