Ashley felt like giving up. It was getting darker as the time went by and she was becoming scared because it didn't seem like she was getting her way out of here at any moment soon. Her phone's signal was bad...she was scared of being eaten by a wild animal...it was almost nighttime... she was tired and hungry... everything was doubled for her.

The more she walked, the farther she believed that she was getting from the world and its people literally. She stopped walking and sat down on the ruffled leaves. It seemed it was her time to leave the Earth but why? The rain was already starting to pour heavily, adding to her list of problems. She remembered her family - her father's smile, her mother's jealous face, and her sister's mischievous look. What about her friends?

Thinking about this made her cry hard under the rain. She was so dumb and kept telling herself that. Even the person that she came after was long gone and probably didn't realize that she was behind him.

Then she looked at the sky. She was always told by her parents that there was a God up there in the heavens...a supernatural being that was there for all those that believed in him and she so much had faith in him because there were a lot of things going on in this world that science wouldn't be able to explain except the help from a supernatural being which she believed was God.

She wanted help and secretly asked him for it. She just wanted to be delivered and that was all.

After saying a few words of prayer, nothing happened. For about thirty minutes, the rain kept pouring harder and she just succumbed to her thoughts. Even God must be mad at her for being this dumb.

"I am so dumb." She said repeatedly and kept hitting her head.

"What do you think that you are doing?"  She heard a familiar voice and instantly lifted her head. A flashlight was turned on and pointed toward her, blocking her sight. The person finally lowered the flashlight a bit from her as she struggled to stand up.

"Alex?" She called his name just to make sure that he was the one. She moved closer...yes, his familiar deodorant. With gladness in her heart, she jumped on him suddenly, causing Alex to take a few steps back before supporting her weight with his arms.

"Thank you, God." She whispered and then started hitting him.

"Why did you leave me behind? I was stuck here all alone and it was all thanks to you. Where did you go?" She said amidst her sobs.

Alex sighed and turned around, "You followed me, didn't you?"

Oops! That was not what she wanted to say earlier but the cat was already let out of the bag. She hugged him tightly as he walked through the forest, still carrying her like a baby.

"I just saw that you left and I was so curious."

"Do you know that curiosity kills a cat? You are so dumb." Alex answered.

Ashley pulled away from him and frowned, "I know that I am dumb but rather than tell me that, you should be considerate and comfort me. "

"I will drop you off if you don't stop talking," Alex warned coldly and his threat didn't seem to be fake. Ashley gasped and stopped talking as she was told. She only held onto him.

But what was surprising to her was how strong he was. She wasn't even on his back. Then how did he know the route? She had been walking in here for the past few hours or so, trying to find the way out during the daytime, but this young man was just walking through as if he owned the place. She didn't ask any further questions and just kept shut.

When they finally got to the street, she came off and Alex dialed Hera's number.

"I found her. There is no need to inform the cops."

    "Really? Thank you so much."

Alex stopped a cab for both of them and entered after the driver was willing to let them in with their cold clothes as other drivers were worried about the wetness affecting the cotton chair rather than the leather ones.

The driver dropped them off at their residential area and left after getting paid. Ashley became nervous and guilty after seeing all of them waiting for her in the sitting room. She must have caused a lot of trouble for them.

The teachers and her friends rushed forward to meet her.

"What happened? Are you okay? Do you need something to eat? What happened?" Different questions were shot toward her.

Amelia was a bit angry and just left the scene along with some others. She waited and was denied her sleep all because of the foolish girl.

"Where did you find her, Alex?" One of the teachers asked. Alex looked at the shaking Ashley before facing the teachers.

"Inside a cafe." He answered and walked away.

"Cafe?" The teachers were stunned and immediately eyed Ashley from top to bottom. She didn't look like someone who was coming from a cafe. Her clothes were dirty and mud could be seen on her shoes. What type of cafe was it?

"How could you have left like that? I don't care wherever you could have gone but you should have at least allowed your friends to know about your whereabouts. Why are teenagers this foolish and annoying? Aside from that, you are the best student...one of the top most reverend students in school, so can you please think about your manners before jumping into the Pacific Ocean?"

Ashley was scolded nonstop by the teachers before she was taken care of.

Deep within her, she was grateful to God to have been back, or else, she would have died completely in the forest.

"Alex seems to be the only one coming to your rescue nowadays." Hera chuckled as she gave Ashley a hot cup of chocolate to make her warm.

    "Thank you," Ashley responded.

"That is because she has a crush on him." Josh blurted out.

    "No, I don't." Ashley denied.

"Yes, you do," Sammie answered this time around. They teased her about it for a while before Hera sent them off to sleep with Josh going to the boys' lodge and the girls had the same room with three other girls for the night.

Ashley couldn't sleep after she covered herself with her blanket because she kept thinking about Alex and how dumb she was. She became embarrassed at her actions.

"I can not believe it turned out like this." She whispered.
