SeokJin descended from the car in a hurry, his body charged with an almost uncontrollable energy as he crossed the gates of the huge house. As soon as he touched the stairs, the familiar scoldings of his babysitter followed him like a shadow, but this time they seemed more distant, more inconsequential than usual.
"¡Be careful, Chucky!," WonWoo shouted from downstairs, but Jin paid no attention. They used to call him Chucky affectionately because although he physically looked like a good guy sometimes he could look more like a devil doll, as is the case with Chucky who could fall in love at first glance because of his good guy appearance but sometimes his character was different. His feet barely touched each step, the dull sound of his footsteps echoing in the emptiness of the staircase.
Heart racing, he reached the door he had waited so long for, not bothering to knock before entering. When he opened it, he found not the scolding he had perhaps expected, but something warmer, more familiar: the smiles of his parents, who greeted him as if no time had passed since his last visit.
"¡Appa! ¡Dad!," he exclaimed, throwing himself into the arms of a radiant blond man, who embraced him with the warmth that only years and love can cultivate.
"¡Hey, kid! More respect," protested one man, visibly offended, though with a spark of amusement in his eyes.
"Easy, Hyun, don't scold the boy," Felix said softly, stroking the boy's golden hair, as he stuck his tongue out at the man, provoking his frustration.
"¡Stop spoiling him!" grumbled HyunJin, crossing his arms in indignation. Neither of them paid any attention to him. "That's why I want a divorce," he added in an almost inaudible mumble, but all three laughed as if it were a joke only they understood.
"Yes, as if you could," Felix replied, without letting go of his son.
"If my Appa asks you for a divorce, you die, Dad," Jin continued with a mischievous grin.
"Both of you are just like that," HyunJin commented wryly, stretching out his arms. "Better give me a hug, you bitchy brat,".
Jin didn't refuse. Despite his tough and rebellious nature at school, at home with his parents, he was different, almost unrecognizable. With them, he allowed himself to be an angel, a child who sought refuge in the unconditional love of those who had raised him. To them, Jin was not only their son, he was their greatest project, a reflection of everything they had worked to protect and strengthen.
His parents knew him like no one else. Jin was the They forged his character, teaching him not to be trampled by the world that often seemed to want to crush him. They gave him the tools he needed to survive, but also to shine. And perhaps most of all, they prepared him for what he would one day become: the leader of his family business.
"Let's go to dinner. It's time to catch up," Felix said with a smile, breaking the small bubble of quiet they had formed in the room.
"¡Sure, Appa! I'll just take a shower and I'll be ready," Jin announced, smiling before quickly leaving the room, feeling the familiar warmth in his chest that always accompanied these moments.
"He's so cute, ¿don't you think?," Felix commented, his voice laden with deep affection as he watched the doorway where his son had exited.
"He's a fucking diabolical doll," HyunJin complained, rubbing his head after receiving a gentle swat from his husband.
"Don't talk nonsense," Felix retorted, shooting him a withering look. "He's a good guy,".
"Oops yeah, sure, how could he not," HyunJin muttered through his teeth, knowing that his comment would only provoke another scolding.
