Two days. Two damn days that Jin hadn't shown up in class, and even if he didn't want to admit it, JungKook was... worried? Yes, that was the right word, although he kept questioning why. Why did he care so much about the absence of his rudest, most immature and loudest student? There was something about Jin's inexhaustible energy that kept him on his toes, something the class lacked when he was away.

As he was explaining a math problem on the blackboard, a student interrupted his train of thought.

"Teacher, the principal sends you this," the girl said, handing him a folded sheet of paper. JungKook took the paper, frowning as he unfolded it and read the contents. Jin was sick with salmonella.

He blinked a couple of times, trying to process what he was reading. Jin, the pretty boy, the unstoppable blond, was sick? But if the last time he saw him, he was full of energy, annoying his classmates and laughing his head off. He couldn't understand how someone with so much vitality could fall ill at a moment's notice. Though, of course, that was none of his business... or at least it shouldn't be.

He sighed and continued with his class, though his mind kept wandering.

"It's two days now and my son still won't get out of bed," Felix said, concern evident on his face. WonWoo, the man who had raised Jin almost as if he were his own son, could not hide his distress.

"It must be my fault, I...," he said with his voice breaking, trying to hold back tears. He felt an overwhelming guilt, as if he had failed in his role as protector. Felix tried to calm him, placing a firm hand on his shoulder.

"No, Woo, the doctor already said it was normal. It's not your fault. These things happen,"

"B-but... I took him to eat at that place," WonWoo muttered, unable to hold back the tears anymore. The pain in his chest was unbearable. Jin was like a son to him, and seeing him so weak broke his heart.

Felix, being strong as always, hugged WonWoo to comfort him. He knew how much Jin meant to him, especially since WonWoo was the most present in Jin's life. Jin had been left in WonWoo's care so many times that the bond between them had become inseparable.

Jin, since that afternoon when he had eaten at that place in the center of the city, began to feel dizzy, and an insistent pain settled in his stomach. He had decided to sleep early that night, thinking that the next day he would be better. When he awoke, however, he found himself completely weakened, with a body he could barely move and a fever that made him burn. Alarmed, Felix and WonWoo did not hesitate to call the doctor.

The diagnosis was clear: bacteria in his stomach. The fever would not go down, and although the doctor assured them there was no cause for concern, Felix could not help but fear the worst.

As the hours passed, the fever finally began to break, but Jin remained asleep for most of the day. When he awoke, his stomach roared with hunger, and his first thought was to ask for a super-fatty meat. But to his misfortune, the doctor had forbidden him fats, which meant he would have to settle for a simple soup.

"This is torture," the blond complained as he glared at the dish. "How do they expect me to survive on this boring food!,"

WonWoo, seeing him so plaintive, smiled in relief. At least his energy and spirit had not been dampened by illness. However, he knew that once Jin felt completely better, he would go straight to eating everything he had been forbidden to eat.

JungKook almost banged his head against the desk. He had explained the same math problem at least ten times, and his students still couldn't figure it out.
