Melo's POV... Monday morning]
My alarm blared to life, jolting me awake. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, already feeling the morning rush.I tossed off my covers and swung my legs over the side of the bed.
The room was still dimly lit, with only a sliver of sunlight peeking through the curtains.
I yawned, stretching my arms above my head.
Time to get moving.
I quickly brushed my teeth, went to get a warm shower, and tied my braids into a ponytail Next, I put on my school uniform, making sure everything was crisp and in place.
In the kitchen, Mama was already preparing breakfast - scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh fruit.
"Morning, Nana!" she chimed.
"Morning, Ma!" I replied, giving her a quick hug.
Ayanda and Ayize were already seated at the table, munching on toast.
"Morning, Kuhle!" they said in unison. They always do this it's like they plan it and they don't.
I smiled, joining them.
We chatted about our day ahead as we ate.
"Where's Baba?" I asked Mama.
Mama smiled.
"He woke up early for work, sweetie. He's already gone."
I nodded, taking another bite of my eggs.
Nkosenye strolled into the kitchen.
"Morning, everyone!"
After breakfast, I grabbed my backpack, filled with study materials.
"Bye, Mama! Bye, Aya and Ayi!"
"Have a great day, Nana. Focus on your exams," Mama said.
Nkosenye and I headed out the door.
As we drove to school, Nkosenye asked, "How's your study plan going?"
"I'm on track, Bhuti. Just need to review a few more chapters."
Nkosenye nodded.
"Just don't overdo it and knowing you,you would ."
"Eish bhuti I have no choice, this is practically the last week before exams and I can't study this weekend because it's gonna be the twins' weekend because they are leaving on Monday and I don't want to be stressed when I'm with them"
"I really get it but just limit the harshness "
"Yebo bhuti "
We arrived at school, and I gathered my thoughts.
"Thanks for the ride, Bhuti."
Nkosenye smiled.
"Anytime, Marshmellow."
As I walked into school, I couldn't shake off the exam jitters. My stomach was filled with butterflies, and my mind kept racing with all the things I still needed to study.
I took a deep breath and reminded myself that I'd prepared well.
In class, Amanhle and Liyanda were already seated, sipping on their water bottles.
"Hey, guys!" I whispered, taking my seat.
"Hey, Melo!" they replied in unison.
Our teacher began the review session, and I listened intently, taking notes.
During the study period, we decided to meet up in the library for a study session.
"We need to focus on mitosis," Amanhle said, spreading out her notes.
