Y/N's POV:
It was just another school day. I walked into class, fully prepared to give Jungkook the latest gossip—mostly because Meiling wouldn't stop hounding me about whatever new scandal she'd uncovered online. But, of course, the universe had other plans. Before I could even take two steps toward Jungkook's desk, one of our classmates came sprinting toward me like he was in a marathon.
"Y/N! Teacher Lim is looking for you!" he gasped, clearly out of breath.
I raised an eyebrow. "Okay, but why are you running like you just escaped from PE class? You good?"
"I've been looking everywhere for you," he panted, hands on his knees. "Where were you?"
"I just got here," I deadpanned. "Now, if you'll kindly step aside, I'll go meet the teacher." I shot him a sarcastic smile, brushing past his exhausted form. He gave me an irritated look, but honestly, not my problem.
---
At the teacher's lounge:
I strolled into the lounge and spotted Teacher Lim, who immediately waved me over. "Teacher, you needed me?" I asked, already bracing myself for some kind of mind-numbing task.
"Oh, yes, Y/N! You're finally here. Meet Kim Namjoon," he said, gesturing to a man standing beside him. "He's our new assistant teacher." Teacher Lim then turned to a girl I hadn't even noticed until that moment. "And this is Bok Jihyun, a transfer student from New Zealand."
I blinked. Great, another person to babysit. "What a rare day," Teacher Lim continued with enthusiasm, as if this was some life-changing event. "A new teacher and a new student joining the same class!"
"Thrilling," I muttered under my breath, but Teacher Lim was too caught up in his excitement to notice.
"Y/N, I need you to show them around the school before the first period," he said, giving me his best 'I'm your boss, so you have no choice' look. "Since you're the class president, this is the perfect task for you."
Perfect? Sure, if by perfect he meant completely unnecessary.
"Got it, Teacher," I said with a forced smile, mentally rolling my eyes. Why me?
With a quick nod, I motioned for Teacher Kim and Jihyun to follow me out. We started the grand tour—if you could call walking past the same three buildings "grand."
---
"So... this is the library," I said, pointing to the large, mostly unused space where people pretended to study but really just napped. "If you like reading books or, you know, avoiding people, this is the place for you."
Jihyun gave a shy little smile. She seemed nice enough, but I had a feeling that she was trying way too hard to be likable. She had that awkward, 'I'm an introvert, but I really want to be an extrovert' vibe. It was cute... Meanwhile, Teacher Kim? He was weirdly perky for a teacher. Kept asking me all these questions like I was some kind of tour guide in a museum.
"And this is the cafeteria," I added, motioning to the place where dreams (and overpriced lunches) went to die. "You're gonna want to avoid anything labeled 'mystery meat' unless you have a death wish."
Teacher Kim chuckled, like he thought I was joking. I wasn't.
We kept walking, Jihyun trailing behind like a lost puppy. She seemed to be adjusting okay, though. At least she wasn't one of those stuck-up new students who acted like they were better than everyone. Small blessings, I guess.
---
When the bell finally rang, I led Teacher Kim and Jihyun back to our classroom, where Teacher Lim was waiting. "All done," I said, giving him a salute that was way more sarcastic than respectful.
"Thank you, Y/N," he said, apparently oblivious to my tone. "I hope the tour was helpful."
Teacher Kim nodded. "It was great. Thanks, Y/N. You're really good at this."
"Yeah, sure," I mumbled, already heading for my desk. Just as I was about to sit down, Meiling turned around in her seat, eyes wide with excitement.
"Did you see the new teacher?!" she hissed, not bothering to keep her voice down. "He's so cute!"
I shot her a look. "Meiling, he's a teacher. A teacher. Let's not go down this road."
"But he's young! Practically our age!" She wasn't wrong—Teacher Kim did have that youthful glow. But still. "Do you think he's single?" she asked, her eyes glinting with mischief.
"I think I don't care," I said flatly, though I could already feel the headache forming.

After school, Jungkook once again offered to walk with us to pick up Yoomi. Meiling, of course, spent the entire time grilling him like a detective. "So, do you have a girlfriend? What's your favorite food? Do you play video games? Wait, do you like anime?"
Jungkook, to his credit, handled the interrogation like a pro. "No, I don't have a girlfriend. Yes, I love tteok-bokki. And I've seen a few anime."
Few anime? That answer sent Meiling into a full-on fangirl meltdown. "You've seen a few? Which ones? I need details, Jungkook!"
He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Uh, mostly the classics, you know? Naruto, Attack on Titan..."
I zoned out as Meiling rattled off her list of top 100 must-watch anime. Every now and then, I'd catch Jungkook glancing at me, like he was about to say something important but kept chickening out. That weird invisible string between us was back, pulling us closer with every stolen glance.

The dream came back, but this time, things were... different. It wasn't just the usual 'lost in the woods, calling out to a mystery guy' routine. No, this time I could actually hear his voice. And it wasn't just some vague whisper, either.
"Your Highness..." he said, clear as day.
I woke up in a cold sweat, my heart racing.
Yeah, this was definitely getting way too real.
