Arav and Niranjan stood before Dr. Akhil's grand mansion, jaws dropped in unison.

"This can't be," Arav whispered. "Dr. Akhil was a middle-class man."

Niranjan's eyes narrowed. "Something's fishy."

They rang the bell and a maid opened the door. "Who?"

"We want to meet Dr. Akhil," replied Arav.

"Ok, I will tell Akhil sir."  then the maid went upstairs after making Niranjan and Arav sit in the living room.

They entered the mansion, surrounded by opulent furnishings and artwork.

Soon Dr. Akhil came, and he greeted them warmly, ignorant to their shock.

"Yes, what can I do for you?," Dr. Akhil asked, leading them to a lavish study.

Niranjan began the interrogation, careful to conceal his true identity.

"Dr. Akhil, I'm Niranjan and he is my friend Arav, we both are from CBI," Niranjan said, his eyes scanning the opulent living room. Niranjan and Arav, both of them show their CBI ID card to Dr. Akhil, which was a fake one but Dr. Akhil was unaware of it.

"Of course, Niranjan. What brings you here?" Dr. Akhil asked, his smile delayed for a moment. He felt uneasy.

"We're investigating an old case," Niranjan began. "A family was attacked, and the parents didn't survive. You treated the survivors."

Dr. Akhil's expression turned somber. "Ah, yes... I remember. Tragic incident. But that case was closed right?"

Arav's eyes narrowed. "Yes. But.. We reopened it. And We've received information suggesting you might be connected to the incident."

Dr. Akhil's smile returned, but his eyes betrayed a hint of nervousness. "That's foolishness. I'm a doctor, not a criminal."

Niranjan leaned forward. "We understand, Doctor. But we need to ask some questions."

"I... I suppose I can provide documentation for my explanation," Dr. Akhil stuttered.

"We'll need that," Arav said, his tone firm.

As they left Dr. Akhil's residence, Niranjan's team exchanged skeptical glances.

"He's hiding something," Arav whispered.

"Let's dig deeper," Niranjan said, determination etched on his face.

The interrogation continued, with Dr. Akhil responding to each question with a mix of cooperation and evasiveness. Niranjan and Arav noticed inconsistencies in his explanation and finances.

"Do you recall treating a family involved in a murder attempt, in which parents died, a boy got shot but, his luck, he isn't dead, and little a girl who was safe?" asked Niranjan.

"Ah, yes... I think I remember something. It was a tragic incident. I treated the survivors, but unfortunately, the parents didn't make it. That "

" Were you familiarised with the family before the incident?" asked Arav

"Yes, I was the female patient's Family's family doctor. I did my best to help them."

"Can you describe your relationship with the family?" Asked Arav

"Professional, of course. I was their doctor. I cared for them to the best of my abilities."

"What do you remember about the night of the incident?" asked Arav

"It was chaotic. The hospital was overwhelmed. I recall the ambulance bringing them in... The family was in shock."

"Did you notice anything suspicious or unusual?" asked Niranjan.
