CHAPTER SIX
GAME ON

EDITED

"Forty-eight.. Forty-nine.. Fuck—Fifty...!"

With a final grunt, you finished your last push-up, collapsing onto your living room floor, muscles burning from the intense morning workout. The sweat dripped from your forehead, pooling beneath you as you lay on your back, chest heaving. You had woken up hours earlier than necessary for the UA Entrance Exam—nerves had made sure of that.

Looking in the mirror, your run your fingers through your damp and greasy [H/C] hair that's clinging to your forehead from the workout. Your uniform lay neatly on your bed, prepared the night before, but you weren't even close to ready yet. You glanced at the clock before heading for the bathroom. You definitely needed a shower before anything else.

The hot water hit your skin, and for a moment, the world outside disappeared. As the steam filled the bathroom, your thoughts drifted. You wondered how many other students were doing the same thing right now-prepping, stressing, dreaming of becoming heroes. Then again, some of them were probably taking this more casually.

You'd be lying if you said you weren't at all nervous.

People like Katsuki, who you knew for sure would act like this was just another day, too confident to be nervous. He'd probably just wake up, grab his stuff, and kill it.

Turning off the shower, you wrapped yourself in a towel, the fog from your thoughts clearing. You weren't like him, and you didn't need to be. You had your own way of fighting and your own reason for wanting to be a hero.

After drying off, you slipped into your uniform and stood in front of the mirror once more.

You turned away from the mirror and took one last look around your empty house. Glancing at the picture frames of your family, plus Shiro, seems different. Even though Riri was somewhat encouraging for a change, their absence had really made you become independent in a good way.

"Alright," you whispered to yourself, taking a deep breath. "Time to go."

Grabbing your bag, you stepped outside. The crisp morning air hit your face, invigorating and fresh. With steady steps, you began your commute to UA.

Upon arrival, the sight of the massive building towering above you was a different experience altogether. The grandeur of it all hit harder in person than it ever did in the pictures. It was intimidating—the weight of your dream now felt so real that your stomach flipped. You couldn't help but feel a flicker of doubt, your feet hesitating for just a second.

But then, someone caught your eye. Just a few meters away, a familiar head of curly green hair stood out in the sea of students. You recognized it immediately.

Ah, and a familiar head of spiky blond hair, too.

It seems like both are unaware of your presence as you decide to not call out to either of them yet. But you could see the two, it's not a pretty interaction considering that it's Katsuki.

He shoved past Izuku who seems to be stringing together a polite greeting. Instead of looking dejected, you were relieved to see that he was quick to recover.

You ran up to him, eager to say hi. But just as you were getting nearby, you could see how he tripped over his own feet. Instinct kicked in and in a speed of light, you slid directly in front of him, your arms outstretched to prevent him from face-planting on the ground.

Or I'll just die, he thought.

Expecting to kiss the pavement, Izuku was mildly confused as he blinks rapidly as he processed what just happened. Then, his face immediately erupted in a heavy blush when he realized the gap closed between you two.
