CHAPTER THIRTEEN
KABEDON ALARMEDITED

["BOMBOCLAT!!"]
The shrill, obnoxious squawk of Riri's voice shattered the stillness of the morning like a windowpane meeting a brick. You groaned, burying your face deeper into your pillow in a futile attempt to block out the chaos. The wizard's overly chipper energy at the crack of dawn was something you were slowly, begrudgingly, starting to get used to—if only out of necessity. It was a relationship almost comparable to Genshin Impact's Kinich and Ajaw's dynamic.
Riri hovered above your bed, arms crossed and grinning smugly like the annoying parrot they undoubtedly were.
"Do you ever do anything productive for once?" you deadpanned, voice muffled by the fabric of your pillow.
The wizard tilted their head in faux contemplation, a mischievous glint sparking in their eyes. ["Well, I keep track of your progress every day with each romantic interest so I can—"]
You sat up abruptly, your hair a mess and your expression exasperated. "Stop talking."
["What? It's part of my job!"] they replied, feigning innocence. ["You wouldn't want me to miss a crucial moment of your budding romance, would you? What if you do something completely swoon-worthy and I'm not there to document it?"]
You shot them a glare that could freeze fire. "I highly doubt anything 'swoon-worthy' is happening while I'm half-asleep and drooling on my pillow."
Riri cackled, floating in lazy circles around the room. ["Don't sell yourself short! You're the star of this show, after all. Every little interaction counts, my dear protagonist."]
"Yeah, yeah," you muttered, swinging your legs over the edge of the bed and rubbing the sleep out of your eyes. "If you're so committed to keeping tabs, maybe you could also, I don't know, help me survive this mess instead of just narrating it."
["You're doing splendidly."] Riri said, throwing a handful of illusory sparkles into the air for dramatic effect. ["Now, hurry up and get ready. You never know what might strike today."]
You sighed heavily, as you stood up to start your day, grabbing your towel for a quick shower. "How 'bout I strike you?"
Arguing with Riri was like yelling at the wind—completely pointless. As much as their antics grated on your nerves, there was a strange, begrudging comfort in their presence. After all, who else would be there to remind you, with unrelenting enthusiasm, that your life had turned into one chaotic, magical rom-com?
Exiting out of your house to begin your commute to school, the conversation with Izuku from yesterday still lingered in the back of your mind, refusing to be forgotten.
One For All. The Quirk that could be transferred from one person to another.
Everything started to click in your head faster than a lightbulb flickering to life. It was no wonder Izuku had gone from being Quirkless to suddenly manifesting this new, extraordinary ability. Everything about it aligned now that you had the missing piece of the puzzle.
Your thoughts rewound to the sludge villain incident. That must've been when it all started, you reasoned. You let out a sigh, running a hand through your hair as you stared at the sky, your thoughts buzzing with the weight of this revelation. Whatever the answers were, one thing was clear: Izuku's journey had become far more complex than you had ever imagined.
