"A QUIRK APPREHENSION TEST?!"

Everyone, understandably, looked taken aback. Instead of attending the welcoming orientation, this was the first task assigned to the class. Aizawa's sharp gaze swept over the room as he explained his reasoning.

"If you really want to be a hero, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies," he said, voice deadpan. "Here at U.A, we are not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run my class however I see fit."

A wave of confused murmurs rippled through the classroom as students tried to process what this meant for their first day at U.A.

"You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives," Aizawa continued, holding up a device that displayed various trial types on the screen. "But you've never been allowed to use your Quirks during physical exams before."

You felt a sudden spike of tension, but then it started to make sense. Testing your Quirks in real-world scenarios was the only way to truly gauge your potential. Knowing your limits, drawbacks, and areas for improvement was essential for becoming a hero.

Still, it didn't make this any less nerve-wracking.

"The country's still trying to pretend we're all equal by not letting those with the most power excel. One day, the Ministry of Education will learn."

Fair enough.

Your teacher's gaze suddenly shifted to you. Well, not just you. But Katsuki too for that matter. His stern look made you instinctively straighten up your posture.

"You two managed to tie together and scored the highest in the exams," Aizawa said, eyeing both you and Katsuki expectantly. "What was your farthest distance throw with a softball when you were in middle school?"

You shot a quick glance at Katsuki standing beside you. Unfazed as ever, his usual air of confidence practically radiated from him. Arms crossed, he didn't miss a beat.

"Sixty-seven meters, I think," Katsuki answered, his voice calm but carrying a smug undertone. Aizawa's gaze shifted to you now, and for a moment, the silence felt heavier. He was waiting for your answer, eyes boring into you. But honestly...

"Not gonna lie," you shrugged, "I don't remember."

A few students stifled quiet snickerings, your blunt response breaking the tension slightly. Maybe you'd skipped school and were sick that that day, or maybe you were too engrossed in video games to even bother. Either way, that number was long lost to you.

Aizawa, however, didn't seem amused as the humorless air returns just as quickly. God, that's like a negative one hundred (-100) subtracted of your aura.
