"We're done here," the tired hero spoke again. "Pick up a syllabus in the classroom. Read it over before tomorrow morning."
Your first official day at U.A. had finally come to an end, and while the tension of the Quirk Apprehension Test still hung in the air, there was a strange sense of relief settling in.
You had passed, after all. And while Mr. Aizawa's sharp eyes had made it feel like he was waiting for any excuse to kick someone out, he had let you all off the hook. That was one less thing to worry about.
Earlier, Shoto had pretended not to see you—or maybe he had actually ignored you altogether. You weren't sure which, but either way, it wasn't surprising. You'd already gotten the impression that he was a bit standoffish from the start, and while that might have bothered someone else, you found yourself unbothered. No hard feelings, you suppose. It's not like you were going out of your way to make him like you romantically.
That's actually what you would want in opposition to what a certain wizard wants.
But even that didn't manage to keep your thoughts from straying back to Izuku as you walk out of the building about to head home, spotting his green-haired head with a brown and indigo-haired head.
Lost in thought, you didn't realize Uraraka had noticed you until she waved enthusiastically, her voice cutting through the general after-school noise. "Hello!!!" she called out, her smile as bright as the afternoon sun overhead.
You approach their small group with a friendly nod and a small wave. "Hello, I'm [Name] [L/N]. Nice to meet you."
Uraraka's face lit up at your introduction. "Ahh! You're the one who placed fourth—that's really good! I'm Ochako Uraraka!" she gushed, practically bouncing with excitement.
Her compliment was sincere, but something about it felt a little off. Maybe it was the way it made you feel like it was something that was expected of you, or maybe it was just the self-doubt creeping in. Either way, you couldn't help but shrug it off. "Eh, guess so. But thank you," you replied, a touch of awkwardness creeping into your tone.
Standing beside her, Iida cleared his throat, his expression as precise and polite as ever. "We're walking to the station together. Would you like to join us?"
You hesitate, a small smile tugging at your lips as you consider it. Your [E/C] eyes drift over to a pair of viridescent ones.
Izuku stands a few paces away from the group, his hands nervously fiddling with each other, eyes not quite meeting yours. You hadn't had the chance to talk to him after the test, and now, standing here, surrounded by everyone else, the thoughts that had been lingering in your mind all day start to bubble to the surface.
