I sat down next to the lawyer, dressed in black like it was a funeral. My small face scrunched in anger. I hated everyone who had put me here. I hated the judge, his long stupid looking dress thingy brushing his far too shiny shoes. I would be sure to tell him his shoes were too shiny. His eyes were small, but wide. The bridge of his nose was narrow, slightly slanted like he had been punched in the face once. Maybe I could slant it a little more if I ever got a word with him. His hair was auburn, his cheeks lacking and freckles that often red heads had. His eyes were blue as the ocean, and flighty as it too. They twitched, looking from Moms face, to her lawyers, to mine. I'm sure to look as mean as I can muster. His cheeks were sunken, narrow, his chin pointed. He reminded me rather much of a Fox. He try's to give me a soft smile of reassurance. I simply deepen my scowl.
"Mrs... Kurnaz." The judge slowly reads off of a paper concealing his red and pointed face.
"What do you plead on 1 count of aggravated assault, 1 count of concealing a non registered fire arm, and 1 count of murder to the second degree?"
My Moms voice rings through the room, her black skirt, the first time I had ever seen her wear black, flows in a draft as swishy as ever. Her shoulders are square. Her body set. Her makeup was meticulous, her nose lightly dusted with silver shining in the bright courtroom lights.
"Guilty to all charges."
