I jumped out of bed the next morning, suddenly remembering that I had plans with Azure today. I quickly grabbed my towel and rushed to the bathroom.
What usually takes me an hour only took thirty minutes this time because I didn’t want to keep Azure waiting.
After getting out of the shower, I decided to wear the outfit Azure bought for me the other day. As I put it on, I was amazed at how perfectly it fit neither too short nor too tight, and the fabric was comfortable.
I applied some powder and lip balm, as usual, and braided my hair on both sides to keep it out of the way later.
Once I was ready, I headed downstairs. Just as I reached the stairs, I saw Azure talking to Grandma.
"Azure," I called out to get his attention. I noticed the way his eyes lit up when he saw me, and a smile followed soon after.
"There she is, my beautiful granddaughter! Be safe, and don’t come home too late," Grandma said with a smile, addressing both me and Azure before letting us leave.
Outside, Azure opened the front passenger door of his black Mustang for me, and then he walked around to the driver's side.
"Have you eaten yet?" Azure asked.
"Not yet. I overslept a little," I replied, embarrassed. He just laughed.
"Let's grab breakfast at a nearby restaurant," he said. We stopped by Dende's Restaurant and ordered takeout.
Azure mentioned that the drive would be a bit long, so it was better to eat first. While he drove, I fed him so he wouldn’t be the only one missing out on food.
After we finished eating, I didn’t realize I had dozed off. When I opened my eyes, the car had already stopped, and Azure was outside talking to someone.
"I was just about to wake you up," Azure said when he noticed I was awake. I smiled in response and looked around to see where we were.
In front of us stood a modern house, not too big, but very pleasing to the eye with its light-colored exterior.
"Come on, let’s go inside," Azure invited. I thought the outside was beautiful, but the interior was even more stunning. The first thing you notice is the spacious, clean living room. The house had a color scheme of white, beige, and brown, with no other colors in sight.
"Do you want to rest for a while or head straight to the farm?" Azure asked. My eyes lit up at the mention of the farm, so I chose to go there right away, feeling refreshed from the nap I took in the car.
We decided to walk since Azure said the farm wasn’t far from the house. After a few minutes, I saw an arch with a sign that read "Figueroa’s Farm." I excitedly pointed it out to Azure, my face full of excitement.
Azure chuckled and walked over to me, and together, we entered the farm. The first thing that greeted us was a large open area where people were racing horses. There were also lots of spectators on the sidelines, cheering for their chosen horses.
I watched in awe, and after a few minutes, Azure guided me to the barns where the horses that weren’t in the races were kept.
"Are you going to race, Azure?" I asked curiously.
"Silly, no. We’re going to ride one of the horses and explore the farm," he said, making me clap in excitement. Azure laughed at my reaction and went to talk to someone before approaching me with a white horse.
"Do you want to touch Riley?" Azure asked, referring to the horse. Although I was a bit nervous, I nodded, and he guided my hand to Riley’s face. The horse didn’t react aggressively, which made me feel more at ease.
"He likes you," Azure said. "Shall we go?"
I nodded, and Azure helped me get on the horse. Once I was settled, he climbed on behind me and began guiding Riley.
We rode around the entire farm, and I couldn’t stop being amazed by the beautiful scenery. After a couple of hours, we arrived at a spot on the farm filled with flowers. We stopped by a tree where a picnic blanket was already set up. Azure helped me down from the horse, and we peacefully enjoyed the view.
After eating, we stayed for a while, just taking in the beauty around us, before deciding it was time to head back since we had a long drive back to Manila.
When we returned to the barn, we said goodbye to the workers and went back to the house.
"Did you enjoy today?" Azure asked as we headed back to Manila.
"I really did! Can we come back again?" I asked after a moment, already missing the place.
"Of course," Azure replied with a smile.
I fell asleep again on the ride home and only woke up when Azure parked the car in front of my aunt’s house.
"Thanks for today, Azure," I said.
"No, thank you, Alexandria," he replied, surprising me by using my second name. He laughed at my reaction, and I quickly looked away, embarrassed. Now I understood how he felt when I called him by his second name.
"Thank you again, Yuella," he said with a smile as he walked me to the door. After saying goodbye to my aunt, he left.
Exhausted, I went up to my room, took a quick shower, and fell asleep.
