Peter was not bitten by the radioactive spider and is not Spiderman!

Hello everyone, it's been 4 years since the last time I posted. I do apologise I simply didn't have any motivation or inspiration to write. I'm currently going through previous one-shots to correct some of my past grammar and spelling mistakes.

Thank you for reading my book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy writing it!

-3 Person POV-

The red string of fate is as ancient as mankind itself. For as long as mankind has known there has been a single delegate string connecting oneself to another human being. Some people were blessed and were able to find their other half, forming a bond like no other. Others were not as lucky, their string led them to a cold stone grave, not even being able to see their other half even once.

The string is at its strongest when a person is between the ages of 16 to 18. This is the time you'll most likely find your fated pair. After that, your body will start to weaken little by little, these symptoms may vary from person to person. At the tender age of 30, if you had still not found your fated pair, you might never get to meet them.

A string is not only visible to the bearer but also to everyone around them. When two soulmates meet their strings will turn a bright breath taking colour before it disappears. Instead, a permanent red ring will appear around their fingers symbolising that they had finally found each other.

Tony was nervously pacing around the room all the while Pepper was lost in thoughts. Their precious son who they had raised since day 1 had fallen very ill. Peter has always been a very fragile person both physically and mentally. Having been born prematurely has left a big strain on his body. He was never able to truly recover from it.

Because of his poor health, Tony never wanted him to go out on his own, scared that something might happen to his little boy. Since he was never allowed to go outside he had made limited social interactions with outsiders and wouldn't truly understand the evils that lurked around in the world.

Pepper understood Tony's concerns but felt bad for Peter. Seeing his gaze fixated on the wide windows every day with a longing to explore made her heart hurt. She would occasionally take Peter with her to the company when he was younger, allowing the young boy to explore new environments and interact a little more with people. Naturally, Peter was under sticky watch by someone at all times when this was the case.

''What is the point of having all of this money and technology around me when I can't even use it to help our son, Pepper?'' Tony says before sitting down beside his lovely wife. Peter's health has reached an all-time low ever since Tony had been kidnapped. The poor boy has had multiple sleepless nights and his heart has been having trouble keeping up. He couldn't understand where his dad had gone and if he would be okay. When Tony eventually returned and saw the state his son was in he vowed to better take care of himself and everyone around him.

''Everything will always be amazing Tony. He just needs a little bit more rest he will recover. We simply need to be more patient and support him.'' Pepper tried to comfort Tony, but even she was feeling the weight of the situation on her shoulders. Peter's health might not have gotten worse since the incident, but the recovery rate is alarmingly slow.

''I understand that Pepper, but he is turning 18 soon. He still hasn't been able to find his soulmate. I don't know if his body can handle the strings side effect, what if it gets too much for him? What do we do then?'' Tony puts his head on Pepper's shoulder and they silently sit praying that everything will turn out okay.
