-3 Person Pov-

Tony is currently sitting on the side of Peter's bed taking his son's temperature. Peter had been suffering from a high fever for the past few days and to Tony's relief it seemed like the fever was finally going down.

Peter was sitting straight, his back resting against a big fluff pillow while his legs were covered by the sheets. He felt bad for making his dad so worried about his condition. Seeing him come in every single day with a forced smile to try and keep the boy's spirit up makes Peter feel guilty. He wanted to spend more time with his parents, make them happy and proud of him, and live a normal life just like other kids his age. Unfortunately, fate wasn't on his side.

''I was finally able to finish the book you gave me last week. I must say I did have to read it more than once to fully grasp the content, but it should help a lot while I upgrade KAREN further.'' Peter tells Tony with a big smile, enjoying the small projects that he works on whenever he can. ''KAREN should be able to detect most vitals and record them. I just have to figure out of the keep her connected to the network more stably. When she needs to retrieve information and has other commands running in the background she starts to malfunction.''

''Would you like to come down to the lab so we can look at it together?'' Tony asks Peter. Peter gets excited at the thought of going to the lab with his dad. Everyone always calls him Mini Stark because of the similarities between him and his dad. His dad is a businessman and engineer while Peter loves science and engineering. They would occasionally work together on small projects which wouldn't be dangerous for the boy. KAREN is Peter's life project, it's an artificial intelligence which they built together when he was young and Peter over time kept giving her upgrades. Now she is at a stage where she can monitor Peter's vitals with 96% accuracy and perform medical necessities to a certain extent when it's needed.

Tony ruffles Peter's hair and the boy just enjoys the sign of affection he is receiving. He carefully gets out of his bed and puts on some shoes. He switches his pain shirt for a big and comfy hoody. When he pulls down his hoody he notices his finger. His red string has always been a very faded red colour, almost not visible to the naked eye. He feared that he might never find his soulmate since he never left the house and the colour only shows small changes in colour. It had never turned anywhere as close to the colour of his parents, a lively bright red colour. He would sometimes feel envious seeing other people who had already met their soulmates. Would they love him just like his parents loved each other?

To Peter's surprise, his string shone brighter than normal. They are still very far away, but it is so much closer than he had previously experienced. Seeing the color Peter felt his body heat up a little, feeling happy at the thought that he might be able to one day meet them. Peter holds his hand and softly squeezes it cherishing this experience. He shakes his head and quickly gets ready so he can join his dad in the lab.

Tony was preparing a cup of coffee and hot chocolate milk for himself and Peter when he heard a loud commotion coming into the room. ''You know how I feel about people coming into the lab unannounced,'' Tony says before turning around to see Steve and Natasha walking into the lab.

''We are aware, but this is an emergency.'' Tony didn't like the tone of Steve's voice but decided to let the man talk before giving a reaction. ''Director Fury has ordered us to rehabilitate Deadpool to become a responsible member of SHIELD and pretty much forced us to take him back with us.'' Tony gives Steve a perplexed look. Did Steve just tell him that they wanted THEM to quote on quote rehabilitate DEADPOOL and the fool is already in the building? Without any prior discussions?
