It was 8 a.m. Vance hated waking up early and he also hated learning. He has to get up early though, since he had planned to go over the Bruce so they could study together. There was another test coming up and since Vance had gotten an F on the last one he has to study.

He put on his boots and left the house. It had only taken him around 10 minutes to walk to Bruce's house, he had a quick pacing in his steps. He knocked the door a few times, but nobody answered. He glanced through the kitchen window. He tried knocking again, and right after he did Bruce opened the door. He was wearing baggy pyjama pants and a white T-shirt. His hair was messy.

He rubbed his eyes in a sleepy mannerism. "Vance..?" He groggily said. Vance was trying his hardest not to laugh. "You look like shit! Did you just wake up?" He chuckled. Bruce became a bit more responsive. "Oh, I had forgotten that we where going to study." He had bags under his eyes. Vance decided to let himself in. He had remembered to take his boots off this time.

"Where is your bag?" Bruce asked him. Vance glanced up. He had totally forgotten his stuff, he was so used to not having any bag with him to school, that in his tired mind it hadn't even crossed him. "Well, school is for losers. Why would I study on a Sunday?" Vance said, forcing a smirk on his face.

Bruce quietly looked at him. "Dude, you're here to study?" "Mhm." "We can use my book, it's fine." Vance sighed. Even though he had proposed the idea of tutoring him he still had no motivation to study. He'd always struggled with school, he saw it more as a prison than an actual educational place. The two paced upstairs and entered Bruce's room. "Sit on the bed. I'll be right back." Bruce exclaimed. He quickly pulled some clothes from his closet and left to his bathroom.

After a few minutes he returned, wearing a hoodie and baggy jeans. Vance immediately it was his hoodie that Bruce was wearing. For some reason he didn't mind. It suited him well.
Bruce walked over to his desk and grabbed his math book and a notebook he hadn't used much. He sat down next to Vance.

They'd been studying for around an hour. Vance had lost all his concentration. "Can't we take a break?" He groaned. Bruce sighed and closed the notebook. They had barely made any progress. "How are you even still in school?" Bruce whined. "Don't act like a smartass." Vance snarled back.

Vance stood up and immediately sat down on the floor. Bruce was still on the side of the bed, he glanced down at Vance's face. "What was the point of that?" Bruce said, letting out another small sigh. Vance just shrugged. There was a slight silence between them as Bruce looked down at him. He took a close look at Vance's eyes. Vance broke the eye contact by suddenly turning his head away and getting up again.

"I'm bored." Vance whined out. "If you want to do something we can study." Vance scoffed.
"Can we go for a walk?" He asked. Bruce hesitated for a second before nodding in agreement. "But we're not going into the woods again." He said, while rolling his eyes.

They headed outside. "Which way do you want to go?" Bruce complained. He was still sleepy but had only agreed to get Vance off his back. He'd way rather study. "This way!" Vance exclaimed. He dragged Bruce by his sleeve and strutted through the streets. They'd been walking for around ten minutes.
Vance hadn't slowed down. They only stopped when they stood in front of a certain store. "Seriously?" Bruce muttered. Vance excitedly walked into the Grab N' Go, dragging Bruce with him. "Grab some food or something, I'm going to play pinball." Vance stated, before quickly walking to the back of the store where the machine stood. Bruce exhaled in an annoyed way.

It had been a bit and Vance had used up all his quarters. He kicked the machine and breathed out. He glanced around the store and landed his eyes upon Bruce who was grabbing a few snacks. "Come on, let's go." Vance grumbled. Bruce nods. He had grown bored of the store.
Bruce walked to the register and slid some money to the cashier, quickly paying before leaving the Grab N' Go.

"We should get back to my house and study some more." Bruce started saying as he cracked open his can of soda. "Then you can go." Vance furrowed his brows. "Fine." He mumbled. "What's with the bad mood?" Bruce asked. Vance felt a little surprised by the tone in Bruce's voice. It was light and actually curious, not like he felt like he had to ask that.

Obviously that didn't change how he was acting though.
"Nothing. I hate that stupid pinball machine." He growled out. His feet where dragging over the sidewalk. "Oh, you know you love it. You're playing it like every other day, Grab N' Go must've made a fortune of quarters from you." Bruce said while lightly shoving Vance's shoulder, which ended up not going very well since they where still walking.
Vance just gave him a neutral look as they kept going, almost being at Bruce's house. Bruce seemed to be in good spirits, and Vance, while being upset about losing pinball, was doing okay. They eventually arrived to the porch and walked up the stairs. Bruce opened the door carefully, the energized walk had tired him out a little and the fatigue came back to him.

Bruce made a small playful bow as Vance entered, he rolled his eyes at Bruce before taking his boots off and going up to the room. Bruce followed after him. They both sat down on the floor.

For the next ten minutes they tried to focus, they really tried. They had sat on the floor but moved to Bruce's bed after Bruce got scared by a spider he saw under his desk. The sun outside had started setting and the room gained a more orangish tone. They sat next to each other, leaning on the wall his bed was placed against.

Their legs where slightly touching but neither seemed to care as much as they where busy making fun of all different sorts of teachers at their school. They made fun of their PE teacher for being so out of shape, their history teacher for being so corny and it went on like that till both of them couldn't help but laugh every time the other came up with another thing.

"Okay, okay, we can actually study now." Bruce snickered out. Vance nodded knowing both of them had totally lost their focus. Bruce started pointing at meaningless numbers in the notebook as Vance laughed before smirking and calling him a nerd softly. "Hey, you're the one who wanted tutoring!" Bruce exclaimed. Vance just shrugged. Bruce sighed and closed the notebook up. "Okay, you can go home I guess." He said sarcastically.

"Finally!" Vance replied in a mocking way. They said their goodbyes to one another as Vance walked downstairs. He quickly waved at Mrs. Yamada who was cooking in the kitchen, she politely waved back at him while smiling. He sloppily put his boots on without even tying the laces and swiftly but quietly closed the door behind him.

As he left the driveway he facepalmed himself. "Why was I so nice to that stupid dork?" He thought to himself, while without realising giving himself a little smirk.
