Chapter 35 Old Acquaintance

The owner of the restaurant shook his head. The man looked disappointed for a moment. Perhaps because he had been rejected too many times, he quickly adjusted himself and took the little girl to look around, intending to go to the next one.

Song Yanqing saw this and took a step forward, then stopped.

The man holding the little girl was wearing a green cloth and had a slightly hunched back, which was far from the image in his memory.

"Go and ask and you'll know if it's true." Zhang Beiting said.

He took Song Yanqing and walked a few steps quickly, catching up with the man holding the little girl, "Wait a minute."

The man turned his head, glanced at Zhang Beiting and Song Yanqing, and asked in confusion: "What's the matter?"

"Are you Rong..." When the words came to his lips, Song Yanqing realized that he had forgotten the man's name. He frowned and thought for a moment, and only wanted to ask, "Are you Aunt Rong's son?"

He was a little annoyed, and it seemed that it didn't make any difference whether he said it or not.

"My last name is Rong, and everyone does call my mother Aunt Rong," Rong Yuan nodded and asked, "Who are you?"

"I am Song Yanqing, and this is my husband Zhang Beiting." Song Yanqing said.

When Rong Yuan heard the word "Song", disgust flashed across his face, but when he remembered who Song Yanqing was, his expression improved a lot, and he said lightly: "You have grown up so much."

Song Yanqing noticed the coldness in Rong Yuan's tone, but did not take it to heart. Instead, he looked at the little girl he was holding and asked: "Is this your daughter?"

"Yes," Rong Yuan pulled the little girl forward a little and said softly, "Yueyue, call uncle."

Yueyue called out softly.

Song Yanqing smiled and responded, took out a bag of maltose from the backpack, smiled and handed it to Yueyue, saying: "Take it and eat it."

Yueyue did not take it, but looked up at her father.

Rong Yuan did not speak either.

Song Yanqing put the candy in the little girl's hand and said seriously: "When I was a child, I ate a lot of Aunt Rong's food. It's time for Yueyue to eat some of mine."

Rong Yuan then nodded and let Yueyue take it.

Several people looked at Yueyue. After a while, Song Yanqing asked tentatively, "How have you been these years?"

"Just so," Rong Yuan said, looking up and down at Song Yanqing, and said, "How about you? You seem to be doing well."

"Not bad," Song Yanqing said.

"Not at all good," Zhang Beiting continued. Although he didn't know what the relationship between Song Yanqing and this man was, he knew from their conversation that Rong Yuan's mother seemed to have taken care of Song Yanqing when he was young, and Song Yanqing was very grateful for this kindness. This man seemed to have had some grievances with the Song family, and because of this grievance, seeing that Song Yanqing was doing well, his tone couldn't help but be a little sour.

No matter what the grudges were, he would not let others involve Song Yanqing, so he said: "If it's okay for them to treat you like that, then there are few people in this world who are not doing well."

Rong Yuan felt a little regretful after hearing this. In the past few years, even when they were living the worst, they could at least have enough food and warm clothes, and they had seen with their own eyes what kind of life Song Yanqing lived in the Song family.
