Chapter 14

Yabi sat at a corner table in Tejero Coffee Shop, savoring the familiar aroma of brewed coffee. It had been a long journey for him and Yna, but now, both freshly graduated, they had more time to reconnect. Just as he took a sip, he spotted Yna entering, her face lighting up when she saw him.

“Yabi!” she exclaimed, sliding into the seat across from him. They exchanged excited updates about their lives, reminiscing about their college days.

Suddenly, a commotion outside caught their attention. Yna’s expression shifted as she recognized a familiar figure. It was Jona, the new wife of her ex-husband, Joshua, crossing the street with a man who wasn’t her husband.

“Isn’t that…?” Yna started, her voice trailing off.

Yabi frowned, understanding her concern. “Looks like trouble.”

“Joshua deserves better,” Yna said, her tone heavy with emotion. “He was always good to me, and now this?”

They watched as Jona laughed, oblivious to the consequences of her actions. Yabi reached across the table, placing a reassuring hand over Yna’s. “You can’t control what she does, but you can support Joshua if he needs it.”

Yna nodded, determination rising within her. “I think I will. He deserves to know the truth.”

As they sat in the coffee shop, the warmth of their sibling bond enveloped them, providing comfort amid the chaos of past relationships. Yabi knew this chapter of their lives was only the beginning of new paths and the strength of family.

As Yna and Yabi left Tejero Coffee Shop, Yna paused on the sidewalk, glancing at her watch. “I think I’ll stop by the office first before heading home,” she said, determination in her eyes.

Yabi nodded. “Are you sure? It’s getting late.”

“Yeah, I need to catch up on some work and maybe check in with the team about the upcoming project,” she replied, a hint of excitement in her voice. “Plus, I want to talk to Joshua if he’s still there.”

Yabi smiled and was supportive. “Just be careful, okay? You’ve got this.”

“Thanks, Yabi,” she said, her heart feeling a bit lighter. With a wave, Yna turned and headed toward her office, ready to face whatever awaited her, fueled by the strength of her brother’s encouragement.
