Well well well! Hello hello hello there! Or should I say こんにちは/Konnichiwa!!! and welcome back!!! I am so glad you are still sticking around!!! I hope you have been studying very very very hard! And if not it's okay it's okay there there, but if you have that will really really help you be able to pronounce the sentences even better for what I will be teaching you today because as I have mentioned before! Those who know how to pronounce the Japanese symbols and just know the pronunciation itself will find it much easier to pronounce and read full on sentences and words!!! Now a quick word of advice that I never knew about for a long time, it's quite important to know when to say a word quickly or keep it going, sorry this might come off as confusing let me give you an example,
おばさん (obasan): This means "aunt" or sometimes refers to an older woman.
おばあさん (obaasan): This means "grandmother" or refers to an elderly woman. The longer version, おばあさん, by extending the vowel "a," changes the meaning from "aunt" to "grandmother" or from an older woman to an elderly woman.
Another pair would be:
ここ (koko): Means "here."
こうこう (kōkō): Means "high school."The subtle lengthening of a vowel or the addition of a syllable can completely change the meaning of the word, so it's important to listen carefully to these distinctions in Japanese!
So keep it mind when listening out for words and speaking it, listen for wether it lasts long or not! Worry more about it later though alright? We will focus more on basics! So let's get started alright?
As I mentioned before I think it's crucial for one to try and learn hiragana, katakana and kanji a day, for example just choose one a day to study, learn one from each category, and just watch how far you can go, therefore, I will teach you the single most basic kanji you will ever and I mean ever experience alright? Cool!
"口" Pronounced as "Kuchi" now wait just a minute, you feel like you have seen this symbol before, and then it hits you, oh yeaaaa you have seen this symbol in Katakana before, now don't be deceived by it alright? There is indeed a difference look carefully now
ロ(Ro) 口(Kuchi) Kuchi is slightly bigger, and it has a meaning to it, also when it's structured with other symbols it will end up making sense all in all in the end, Anyways, study the difference between the two alright? Do mix up Ro and Kuchi, and forget what means what, "Kuchi" 口 means "Mouth"
Perfect study that hard! And you should already know how to pronounce it
Okay look there is a word I keep thinking I should talk about before I forget soooo we will put kanji on hold for a minute there is a word that is "Suki" "すき" and it basically just means "like" as in, I like that person, I like that cake, I like that show, and there is also "Daisuki" "だいすき" Which, yep you guessed it, means "really like" and there is of course "Suki Janai" "すきじゃない"which means "don't like" there is more ways to say don't like but we will get more into that later in the future, okay okay my point is with all of this is that if you remembered the pronunciation correctly, is that Suki would be like soo key, but no- instead you should say Suki as fast as you can to the point where it sounds like you said "Ski" It had taken me a long time in knowing Japanese that you should say it like that instead, sooo I did not want to forget to teach that ever because I think it's crucial for my fellow students to know, yes you are my students now hehe, and I am your sensei 先生 せんせい, back to Kanji now though,
"一" this symbol means "one" the number one btw, to pronounce it would be, "Ichi" and I know what you are thinking, but don't the Japanese just use "1"? Yes indeed they do, however, they also use Kanji sometimes for certain situations somewhat and for their own personal taste,
Next, "ニ" this means "two" you would pronounce it as "Ni"
The next one is "三" This means "3" you pronounce it as "San"
Okay so this one is more hard, However, I think it's a important one in a way or a really beautiful one, but that is for me personally everyone has their own ideal, in fact please comment down below what Kanji you would like to learn like what is for example "wind?" "Leaf" Etc.
