"The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?"

~•~

Rutu tried to talk to Utkarsha, but she just replied with a cold gaze and words. Her eyes, once warm and inviting, now seemed icy and distant. Rutu felt a pang of confusion and worry, sensing that something was wrong. But he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"Hey, Utkarsha, what's wrong?" Rutu asked, trying to sound concerned.

"Nothing, Rutu. Just leave me alone," Utkarsha replied, her voice cold and detached.

Rutu felt a shiver run down his spine. He had never seen Utkarsha like this before. She was always so warm and friendly, but now she seemed like a stranger.

"Utkarsha, is everything okay? You seem really upset," Rutu pressed on, trying to get to the bottom of things.

"Just drop it, Rutu. I'm fine," Utkarsha snapped, her eyes flashing with anger.

Rutu took a step back, feeling like he had been slapped. He didn't know what was going on, but he knew he didn't like it. He tried to brush it off, thinking that maybe Utkarsha was just stressed about the upcoming board exams.

"Yeah, okay. I know exams are coming up. You must be really tense," Rutu said, trying to sound understanding.

But deep down, Rutu knew that something was off. Utkarsha's behavior was not just about exam tension. There was something more, something that Rutu couldn't quite grasp. But he avoided it, thinking that maybe it was just his imagination playing tricks on him. Little did he know, Utkarsha's heart was breaking, and she was trying to pick up the pieces.

FAREWELL

Utkarsha stood alone, lost in her thoughts, as the farewell celebration swirled around her. She couldn't blame Rutu for her heartache; she had expected too much and ended up hurting herself. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as she gazed out at the sunset, its beauty a stark contrast to her inner turmoil.

Rutu approached her, oblivious to her emotional pain. "Hey, Utkarsha, we're shifting to Mumbai next week for my cricket training. It's a great opportunity, and I'm really excited," he said, his voice filled with enthusiasm.

Utkarsha's heart skipped a beat. Mumbai? He's leaving? The thought hit her like a ton of bricks.

Rutu continued, "Let's keep in touch, okay? We can meet up during breaks or something."

Utkarsha's heart broke all over again. She nodded silently, unable to speak, as Rutu's words cut deep. She felt like she was losing him all over again.

As the farewell drew to a close, Utkarsha glanced at the sunset, its vibrant colors a reminder of the happiness she once felt. "The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Rutu looked confused, unsure how to respond. Utkarsha's words were a mask for her true emotions - sadness, loss, and longing.

With a heavy heart, Utkarsha walked away from Rutu, promising herself she would move on, far away from him. She made a silent vow to quit watching cricket, a painful reminder of Rutu's absence in her life.

Yet, amidst the heartache, Utkarsha held onto a glimmer of hope. She believed Rutu would make it to the Indian cricket team.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Utkarsha vanished into the crowd, her heart heavy with emotion, her spirit determined to move on.

Utkarsha's mind snapped back to the present, and she found herself reliving the same emotions she thought she had left behind. She felt like Rutu was playing with her emotions again, just like he did in the past. But this time, something was different.

This time, the pain cuts deeper, a wound so true.
