The next morning, Y/N woke up to the warm sunlight streaming through her window, but this time, it was different. She wasn't waking up alone. She turned her head and saw Zhang Hao lying next to her, his face soft and peaceful as he slept. A smile tugged at her lips as she admired him for a moment, still processing that he was really there.
Not wanting to wake him, Y/N carefully slipped out of bed and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. She wanted to surprise him with a simple meal, just like he had surprised her by coming all this way. As she prepared some toast, eggs, and coffee, she couldn't help but feel her heart swell with happiness.
It wasn't every day that they got to spend time like this, without the pressures of their busy lives hanging over them.
The smell of breakfast reached Zhang Hao, and he slowly opened his eyes, blinking in the sunlight. For a brief moment, he was disoriented, wondering where he was. Then, the events of the previous night came flooding back, and a smile formed on his lips.
He stretched, feeling relaxed and refreshed, and climbed out of bed. As he walked into the kitchen, he saw Y/N standing by the stove, humming softly as she cooked.
Zhang Hao approached her quietly, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. Y/N jumped slightly at the unexpected embrace but quickly relaxed when she realized who it was.
"Good morning," Zhang Hao murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Good morning," Y/N replied, turning her head slightly to smile at him. "I thought I'd make us some breakfast."
Zhang Hao kissed her cheek, his voice still groggy from sleep. "You're too good to me. I should be the one making breakfast since I'm the one who showed up unannounced."
Y/N chuckled, shaking her head. "Consider it a thank you for the surprise. Besides, you deserve a break."
Zhang Hao watched her for a moment, his heart full. Being here with her, away from the hectic schedules and constant pressure of his career, felt like a much-needed escape.
After breakfast, Zhang Hao and Y/N decided to spend the day together, doing things they rarely had the time for. It wasn't anything fancy—they didn't need elaborate plans to enjoy each other's company. They started with a walk through the nearby park, hand in hand, talking about everything and nothing all at once.
The crisp autumn air filled their lungs as they strolled along the tree-lined paths, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot. Zhang Hao found himself feeling lighter with every step, the weight of his responsibilities slipping away as he enjoyed this peaceful moment with Y/N.
At one point, they stopped to sit on a bench, watching the families and couples pass by. Y/N leaned against Zhang Hao, resting her head on his shoulder.
"This is perfect," she murmured, her eyes closing as she soaked in the calm atmosphere.
Zhang Hao nodded in agreement, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I wish we could do this more often."
"We will," Y/N said confidently. "We just have to make time, like you did this time."
Zhang Hao smiled, squeezing her hand. "You're right. We'll make it happen."
Later that afternoon, they returned to Y/N's apartment and spent time simply relaxing—watching movies, talking, and enjoying each other's presence. At one point, the conversation turned to the future, something they hadn't discussed much in detail before.
"I've been thinking," Zhang Hao started, glancing at Y/N. "About what comes next. With my career, with us..."
Y/N looked at him curiously. "What do you mean?"
Zhang Hao hesitated for a moment, then continued. "The group is doing well, and I'm so grateful for everything we've achieved. But I can't help thinking about the future. What happens when the contracts end? What do I want to do afterward?"
Y/N listened quietly, sensing the depth of his thoughts. "Do you have an idea of what you want?"
Zhang Hao shrugged, a small smile on his face. "I want to keep making music, for sure. But I also want to build a life with you. A life where we're not always separated by schedules and distance."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at his words. She hadn't expected him to be thinking so far ahead, but it warmed her to know that she was such a big part of his vision for the future.
"I want that too," Y/N said softly. "I don't know what the future holds, but I know that as long as we're together, we can make it work."
Zhang Hao smiled, relief and happiness flooding through him. "I know it's not going to be easy. But just thinking about building something with you... it makes everything else worth it."
They sat there, lost in their thoughts about what the future might bring. Even though they didn't have all the answers, they knew one thing for certain—they would face it together, no matter what.
As evening approached, Zhang Hao and Y/N sat on the couch, watching the sunset through the window. The warm glow of the fading sun filled the room, casting a peaceful ambiance over the apartment. Y/N rested her head on Zhang Hao's lap, her eyes closed as he gently stroked her hair.
"I don't want this day to end," Y/N murmured.
"Neither do I," Zhang Hao replied quietly. "But we'll have more days like this. I promise."
Y/N smiled, feeling reassured by his words. She knew that their relationship would always have its challenges, but days like this—where it was just the two of them, enjoying the simple pleasures of life—made it all worthwhile.
As they sat there in the soft glow of the evening, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in their little bubble of happiness.
And for now, that was enough.
