Amberlie's pov
My parents seem to hover over head.
It's kinda impossible and complex when you trynna consider privacy issues. I and my older sister Sophie use to have it alot. Sometimes, we try to pretend that it was a norm but hell! It's really frustrating how your parents don't really trust you. Well I clearly know why Mom won't trust Sophie. As for me, I try to leave a normal life, free of suspense and distrust (well u can say I'm such a good gal 😉) I'm very open to my parents and it makes it easier for them to trust me.
Now unlike my sister Sophie, I wanted one thing that I know it's kinda shady: independence. Well I'm 17 and it's a good thing to want to move away from home 🏠 right? Or well... I know my parents won't approve. Especially daddy since he literally thinks that my motive of moving out is to get away from rules (as if I'd ever complain 😒)
I do feel he's half way correct though 😒 cuz I hate rules but abide to them. I'm 17 for Pete's sake and I hate it that I have very little say 'bout how my life's run."Amberlie! Amberlie!"
"I'm comin' I'm comin'"
I placed my pen on the book as I got up and walked out of my room rushing down stairs to the sitting room.
"Hey Drina!" I exclaimed with delight as I walked down the last stairscase smiling.
" 'sup Berlie?"
"I'm good" I replied then glanced at my wrist watch. Wow!- almost ten pm
Man! it's late - but not for the Alexandrina I know
"You came for a visit or maybe you just dropped by?" I guessed to myself.
She sighed then glanced back as she collapsed into the couch behind her. She sprawled like a man.
"You didn't even bother to offer me a seat. Don't worry I'll make myself comfortable" Drina said staring up at my face. I chuckled and sat back on the single couch behind me
"You know what to do Drina. You're not a visitor or guest here anymore. You're family." I said with a big smile as she rolled her eyes derogatorily.
"Berlie, what are your plans on moving out?" She asked.
"Plans? No plans yet"
She rose an eyebrow quite surprised.
"Your not ready on moving out then"
"Of course I do!" I spewed instantly at her
"Look girly, moving out requires a lot-"
"Like what?" I chipped in curiosity.
Drina chuckled briefly.
"You'll start attending highschool obviously. Homeschooling can't build up your confidence"
My eyes widened at the word 'highschool'
"I can't go to highschool!" I spewed in disagreement sitting up properly. Highschool's is a little strange for me. All my life from tender age, I've been homeschooled. Though I'd partially attended a general school in my fifth grade but then I quit. Oh how I hated it there! Sophie usually says that if I could make it through school, I could survive anything.
I think that's awful - school being compared to survival.
"Like what?"
