Author's Pov:

Jungkook slammed the car door shut behind him, his anger radiating like a palpable force. "Take me back to the office," he growled at his chauffeur, not bothering to hide his displeasure.

The chauffeur, sensing his boss's dark mood, nodded silently and put the car in motion. Jungkook's eyes glared out the window, his mind still reeling from Y/N's no-show.

"How dare she," he muttered under his breath, his fists clenched in his lap. "Thinks she can just stand me up and get away with it?"

The chauffeur glanced in the rearview mirror, his eyes filled with concern. But he wisely kept his mouth shut, focusing on navigating the crowded streets. Jungkook's anger continued to simmer, his mind racing with scenarios of how he would confront Y/N and make her regret ever crossing him.

As they approached the office building, Jungkook's phone buzzed again. He snatched it up, his heart racing with anticipation, but it was just his assistant.

"Sir, I've rescheduled your meeting with Jonathan for tomorrow morning. And I've also—"

Jungkook cut him off. "Cancel it. I don't want to see anyone. Just get me a coffee and send everyone away."

His assistant hesitated before nodding. "Yes, sir. Right away."

Y/N's focused eyes scanned the operating room as she expertly performed the delicate heart surgery on the young patient. Her hands moved with precision, her mind fully engaged in the complex procedure.

As she worked, her gaze flicked to the clock on the wall, her heart sinking. She knew she wouldn't be able to make it to the date with Jungkook. But she pushed the thought aside, her attention consumed by the tiny heart in her hands.

"This child is more important," she whispered to herself, her hands moving swiftly and surely.

The anesthesia monitor beeped, and Y/N's resident, Dr. Song, spoke up, "Dr. Choi, the patient's pressure is dropping."

Y/N's eyes narrowed. "Increase the anesthesia and let's get this done quickly."

As the surgery progressed, Y/N's team worked seamlessly together, their movements choreographed by countless hours of training and experience. Y/N's focus never wavered, her dedication to her patient unwavering.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Y/N stepped back, her eyes scanning the monitors. "We're done," she said, a soft smile on her face.

The room erupted in a flurry of activity as the team worked to stabilize the young patient. Y/N watched, her eyes shining with a sense of pride and fulfillment.

She had saved a life today. And that was all that mattered.

The date with Jungkook was forgotten, a distant memory in the face of her life's purpose. She knew he would be angry, but she couldn't bring herself to regret her choice.

For Y/N, this moment, this life saved, was what it meant to be a doctor. And nothing else compared.

Your Pov:

When I stepped back home,I knew I would be questioned as to why I skipped the date with Jungkook, but no,I felt like they didn't even knew about what happened. My mom smiled when she saw me entering,"How was the date,Sweetie?" she asked me,but I couldn't bring myself to answer and just sighed, keeping my bag at the table and walking to my room. I could hear her faint voice questioning,"What?Did something go wrong between you two?"
