Chapter 11

I woke up as the plane was landing. The city lights filled my eyes; I was happy. I grabbed my bags and caught a taxi. "To the cheapest hotel in Times Square please." I say. All I could see were lights; beautiful lights the ones where you can just smile all night by just staring at them. I got out of the car and looked at the hotel. It wasn't that bad for $140 for three nights which is pretty cheap. "I would like to book a room." I say to the man. "Oh yes! He says joyfully. "Room 814!" He said, while giving me a key. I walked into the room and I'm greeted by a huge window overlooking the city. "I am truly free."

I woke up the next day with the sun in my eyes. "Seven am... Ah." I say with a smile on my face staring out the window. There were no cars on the street, it was quiet... This beautiful quiet where you can only hear the spring breeze and birds chirping. I pick up my phone and looked at it - Mom. "Hello?" I say. "Where are you?" She asks panicked. "I'll come home in two days I promise." I say nearly in tears. "Okay! Fine!" She screams and hangs up the phone. "Ugh the perfect morning gone to waste!" I say and fall back onto the pillows. "I never want to leave this bed." I say and turn over on my stomach.

I got up and walked into the bathroom. The hotel looked five stars but for a cheap price it was perfect. I changed clothes, grabbed my phone and two-hundred dollars. It was finally time to explore the city.

Later at around six thirty i headed down to the subway. Dashing and dodging people out of my way when my phone rings. Calvin.
