As they sat down, Harry felt a weight lift off his shoulders. “To victory!” he raised his goblet, and the hall erupted in cheers.
As the evening wore on, the celebration was filled with stories of their adventures. Hermione, caught up in the spirit, recounted their trials in the Forbidden Forest, her voice animated and alive.
Percy and Annabeth joined them at the Gryffindor table, sharing tales from their own world, revealing how their quests had tested their bonds.
“Fighting monsters is one thing,” Annabeth said, a teasing smile on her lips. “But trying to navigate teenage emotions while saving the world? That’s the real challenge.”
Percy grinned. “You think you have it tough? Try being the son of Poseidon and dealing with the ocean’s mood swings.”
Laughter filled the hall, but beneath the surface, the group felt the weight of their experiences. Harry caught Hermione’s gaze across the table, their unspoken connection palpable.
Later that night, as the festivities continued, Harry pulled Hermione aside into a quieter corner of the hall. “Can we talk?”
“Of course,” she replied, her tone serious.
“I’ve been thinking… about us,” he began, his heart racing. “Everything we went through brought me to realize how much I care about you. It’s more than friendship.”
Hermione’s breath caught in her throat. “I feel the same, Harry. I’ve been afraid to say it. After everything, I didn’t want to ruin what we have.”
“But we can’t ignore this,” Harry insisted, stepping closer. “We’re stronger together, and I want to explore this… this love.”
Hermione smiled, her eyes shimmering. “I’d like that. More than anything.”
They shared a tentative kiss, sealing their unspoken feelings amidst the chaos of their lives.
