October 24th
It's Sunday, and Arsenio, Jonathan, Kaylani and Makenzie are at the local park. Kaylani has seen been released from the hospital. They sit at a bench, all eating from a plastic container that holds a variety of sliced fruit. Birds fly above them, the leaves on the trees now increasingly orange and yellow. The wind around them a little more chilly than usual. The park seems to be basically empty as well. On the nearby street, a police vehicle drives by. They're likely patrolling the area in light of recent events.
Arsenio: It's quiet out here. It's like the whole town is in some sort of lockdown.
Makenzie: Yeah, it's trippy. It's never this quiet.
Jonathan: Everyone must scared. I can't say I blame them.
Kaylani: After what I went through, I definitely can't say I blame them.
Jonathan: Arsenio?
Arsenio: What?
Jonathan: He hasn't called you anymore, has he?
Arsenio: No.
Kaylani: That's a good thing right?
Arsenio: Maybe. I don't know though.
Jonathan: Is your dad still mad at you, Makenzie?
Makenzie: I think he's finally leveled off now. It wasn't pretty for a few days. But hey, I survived.
Jonathan: What about you, Arsenio? How are your parents taking everything?
Arsenio: I think they finally came around to forgiving me for bailing on them at the festival. Although they aren't thrilled about me leaving the house.
Kaylani: That whole scheme sounded like a lot of fun. I kinda wish I was a part of it.
Makenzie: It was pretty fun.
Jonathan: Well until all of that shit went down at the factory.
Arsenio: At least the weather's nice. I miss chilly days like these.
Jonathan: For real. These days are the best.
Kaylani: I don't know. This weather's too cold for me. I prefer summer.
Makenzie: That's probably because you have a shaved ice machine at your house.
Arsenio: And a pool.
Kaylani: Hey, that's only part of it.
The group continues to munch on their fruits.
Arsenio: Halloween is coming up, you guys got any plans?
Makenzie: I'll probably just stay home and pass out candy. If I'm lucky, I'll also be diabetic by the time the sun comes up.
The group all chuckle.
Arsenio: That sounds like a fun time. I'll likely do the same, plus some scary movies or whatever.
Jonathan: Isn't the school hosting a Halloween dance? We should all go to that. It might be fun.
Makenzie: That sounds pretty okay. What do you think, Arsenio?
