October 28th

A crow flies from a thick tree branch. It squawks as it does so. A single feather from its body slowly descends down to the ground beneath it. We follow the feather as it falls. It eventually lands on a patch of well kept grass. We pan up to see a funeral occurring in the distance. From the shot, we can see that the day is somewhat cloudy. Patches of the blue sky can be seen through the dominant clouds. There is also the slightest breeze running through the cemetery.

At the funeral, a table displaying a framed photograph of Carmen Alonso rests on a small wooden pedestal. Flowers and a few small candles surround the photo. Just behind that display is Carmen's casket; being a dark blue in color with a metallic frame. It's closed due to her injuries being to graphic to be shown. Out of respect of course. Carmen's casket appears ready to be lowered. We see a small crowd around the casket and display. Arsenio is standing near his mother's casket. His face a mess and his eyes swollen; most definitely from all the crying that he has been doing. Arsenio's hands are together and towards his legs. Benicio is beside Arsenio, is eyes also a disaster. He is in a wheelchair and has a nasty scar across his face from the earlier attack. Both Arsenio and Benicio wear dark clothing. Benicio holds a rose and has it near his lap. At the funeral are also Zuri and Ruben Tellez. The two of them also wearing black. Leading the funeral is Father Diego. He's wearing a special outfit that is usually worn by a priest attending a funeral. There is also a few funeral workers and a surprising crowd of people just off towards the road. Most appear to be citizens but some are clearly news reporters. Not local ones either as they appear to be from well known news corporations. The nation now shifting its focus on the town thanks to their ruthless serial killer.

Diego: A loving daughter, friend, wife and mother. Our dearest Carmen shall never be forgotten. For it is my greatest prayer, my lord, that you carry the deceased within your hands and guide her soul to the heavenly realm. May her soul be at peace and rest freely in the divine afterlife. May the hearts Carmen touched always hold her memory. And may her family and loved ones forever hold her deep within their hearts. Amen.

Father Diego draws a cross on his torso. He then looks out to Arsenio and Benicio, both looking completely defeated. Father Diego walks away from his small podium and towards Arsenio and Benicio. The two acknowledge Diego's presence. Father Diego then grabs a hand of both Arsenio and Benicio.

Diego: My children of God. Your loss is unimaginable. But know that our lord has is arms around you. His eyes too. For you are now safe, there is nothing further to fear. Your loved one is now free, her soul now apart of our true home. Heaven. Reunited you lot will be. With due time, we will all see our flesh and blood once more.

Arsenio: Thank you.

Diego: No problem, my child.

Father Diego begins to walk back to his podium just as the workers prepare to lower Carmen's casket into the ground. One of the workers begins to turn the crank, slowly lowering the casket. Arsenio then gets behind Benicio and begins wheeling him towards the dug out. He stops and Arsenio once again joins his father's side. The two look down at the ever lowering casket. The sounds of the lowering casket rip through the cold, quiet morning. Benicio takes the rose and gently tosses it into the dug out. The rose lands directly on tip of the casket; making a quiet thud noise as it lands. Carmen's casket finishes its descend down into the hole. Arsenio and Benicio both close their eyes and quietly give their final parting words and prayers. We get an overhead view of the funeral. Carmen's casket now six feet under. The other worker then brings a large wheelbarrow full of dirt over to the hole. Arsenio and Benicio finish their parting words. Arsenio then goes behind his father and begins to wheel him away from the dug out. He takes Benicio back over towards the Tellez's. The couple having a somber look on their faces.
