Two days passed, and you already settled down into her home. You gave her everything Hiru owned. She took it with a calm demeanour and a gentle smile as always. You could feel the overwhelming warmth from her as she had been feeding you a ton of food, trying to fatten you up for the past two days. After your first meal, she explained to you how to kill demons, that you need a specialised ore for the blade. After that, she further explained how the Demon Slayer Corps worked. She explained rankings and important figures. She revealed she was a retired Cloud Hashira. As to why she retired early, it's a no-brainer.
"We will start training tomorrow," your teacher informed you with a smile. "As you may already know, I am a user of cloud breathing, and it is derived from wind and thunder breathing style. We mimic the clouds in the sky, sometimes thundering, but most of the time, they conceal the sun."

The following morning, you started your training with her. She first taught you how to wield a sword and made you swing it fifty times. Then you followed up the hill and down again with her whilst jogging. You were practically gasping for air and knocked out by the end of the day. When you were asleep, she had planned the next few months of training for you, and after training, she would always bring food for you. As she hands you your schedule, you look at the amount of workout you have to do: fifty sit-ups, lunges, push-ups, and two-minute planks. Followed by running up and down the hill for ten rounds and swinging the sword a hundred times. All you could think of is that you must push yourself even further to avenge your sister. Even if these look daunting, you know you have to endure this.
To make yourself stronger, you have to do it! Every day you trained yourself like crazy with her schedule, each week she increased the exercise amount, adding your own exercises too to push yourself further like swinging the Katana with one hand vertically and horizontally on your left and right hand, making you an ambidextrous sword user. This was a backup plan so that if you ever lose an arm in the future, you still could fight with the other hand with the same strength. After all these hardcore routines, you felt you were getting stronger, and your muscles hardened.
Additionally, you could feel a little six-pack and even learn to do a backflip! Before you knew it, two years had passed. With the intensive training you gave yourself, you felt your whole body was physically different and ready to take on demons.
"I have nothing more to teach you."
"What? No way!" You replied in shock
"You are amazing, Y/n. You're a hard worker. You are ready for the final selection. If I were to say, you might just be one of the best students I've taught. You even learned how to use a scythe for battle," She said with a smile as she stroked your head. "Since the final selection is still far away. I will teach you some medical knowledge from my youthful years," She said with assertiveness before she rambled on about her past. "I was a nearly graduated apprentice under a renowned doctor at the time... the good old days."
Since that day, she started teaching you medical knowledge with books from the past. You felt it was unnecessary at first but soon came to realise how important it is for demon slayers. One more medic is always better than none. You were taught traditional Chinese medicine. Since back then, the Japanese were using traditional Chinese medicine as the Japanese doctors were sent to China to learn how to be doctors. You were first taught about human anatomy and were taught only basic knowledge of it since to master this medical knowledge, you have to go under apprenticeship for four years. She passed you a textbook for you to read when you have free time. As another two months passed, the final selection was drawing near.
"Y/n, I will send you to the final selection," your teacher declared. "But I have one more task before I send you off."
You looked at her with great anticipation.
"Kill ten demons, and find at least one person to treat their wounds," she stated her final task for you.
You nodded and waited for nightfall and headed out at that time. Before you left, your teacher pointed out the forest that was infested with demons. Just right at the entrance, there was already one.
My first demon, I have to kill it! It's a matter of life or death now.
The demon noticed you staring from afar and came running right for you.
Cloud breathing, first form: Six slashed veils.
"I cut off its head! I did it!" You jumped with a big smile on your face. You looked into the forest and gripped your katana tight. You reminded yourself you had nine more to go. You intentionally made loud noises for the demons to hear as you wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. With each and every step you take into the forest. Slowly but surely, you were on your sixth demon until you smelled something metallic after the battle: it was a heavy scent of blood. You did a quick touch around your body to check if there was any bleeding. There wasn't any, so you assumed it was someone else's blood. You looked out in the distance and followed the scent.
"Are you seriously a pillar? They can not be this weak, can they? How pathetic, haha!" The demon mocked and laughed.
Right at this moment, you quickly analysed the field. You spotted the demon and some knocked-out swordsmen near the trees and a boy with black to turquoise hair, trying to fight.
If I hadn't been assigned to these incompetent people getting in my way non-stop, I would have finished this long ago.
Cloud breathing second form: Mist Plays. Mist surrounded the area, and the demon couldn't see anymore, as it looked around in panic, finding the one who obscured his vision.
"Damn it! Who's this? Didn't I already get rid of all those brats!?" The demon growled. "Ah hah! Found you!" He swung his arms at your disappearing images, shocked to see it fade.
You quickly grabbed the boy and went somewhere far. You ran back to the demon and sneak attacked it: Cloud breathing: fourth form: Thunderbolt!
You plunged to the ground with the demon in your vision, but you were only able to cut off its arm. You cursed at yourself before getting ready for your stance. You launched relentless attacks again and again but were blocked nonstop. You were getting ticked off and launched "Cloud breathing, sixth form: bending—"
"Mist breathing, fourth form: shifting flow slash."
That's so fast... I just brought him over. How is he already here? ...Is he what they call a hashira?
