Jungkook stood frozen, the delicate envelope still in his trembling hands. He couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think beyond the pounding of his heart in his chest. Slowly, almost hesitantly, he unfolded the letter, the paper crackling softly in the quiet room. His eyes scanned the familiar handwriting, Jimin’s script, and every word felt like a dagger to his soul.

"Luna, if you're reading this, then it means I am no longer by your side."

Jungkook’s breath hitched. His hand flew to his mouth as the words blurred, tears already welling in his eyes. No. This couldn't be. He didn’t want to believe it, but Jimin’s handwriting was unmistakable—so calm, so deliberate, even in the face of death.

"I knew about the attack."

Jungkook’s world tilted as the sentence sunk in. Knew? He could hardly grasp what he was reading.

"I knew they were coming for you, for Alpha Taehyung, and for me. They were after power, after blood. If I had told the Alpha, the attackers would have found out. They would have tracked you down, and both of you would have been in danger. The only option I had was to destroy the carriage, to make them believe we were caught off-guard."

Tears spilled from Jungkook’s eyes as he read, each word a blow to his chest. His heart felt like it was shattering, piece by agonizing piece.

"I made my choice because I couldn’t risk losing you... or Alpha Taehyung. I did what came to my mind at that moment. I’m sorry. I knew what it would cost me."

The letter trembled in Jungkook’s hands. The realization hit him with the force of a storm: Jimin had sacrificed himself. He had known the danger, known what would happen, and he had still chosen to protect them, even at the cost of his own life.

"Please, don’t blame yourself, Luna. It was my decision. Protecting you has always been my purpose, my honor. If this is my end, then let it be with no regrets. You are strong. You always have been."

Jungkook choked back a sob, his knees buckling as he sank to the floor, clutching the letter tightly to his chest. Jimin was gone. His mind screamed in denial, his body shaking with the pain of loss. But the truth was right there, written in Jimin’s careful handwriting. He would never see his smile again, never hear his laugh. Jimin was gone, and the realization tore him apart.

But as his tears soaked the paper, something else caught his eye—a small note, separate from the letter, tucked carefully into the corner. Jungkook’s shaking hands picked it up.

"Jungkook, my love, if you’re reading this, then please, go to my closet. There’s something there for you."

Jungkook’s breath caught. "My love," the words echoed in his mind. His heart clenched painfully, and fresh tears poured down his cheeks. He held the small paper for a moment, staring at it, his mind spinning. Jimin had left something for him. What could it be? What had he wanted Jungkook to find?

But the time for that discovery would come later. Right now, he needed to show Taehyung the letter. Jungkook quickly hid the small note in his robes, his mind already racing with how to explain everything to Taehyung.
