Hey guys! How are you?
Today we're going to talk about a subject that I've wanted to address for a while now, but I ended up not having enough information and it was quite incomplete...
So, do Otherpaws have shifts or not?
Shift is a more common term within the alterhuman community, and it means:
(according to the Alterhumanity fandom)
"Shift refers to a phenomenon within the alterhuman community where an individual undergoes a notable change in their mental or emotional state, often associated with aspects of their identified non-human or alternate self."
About this:
• Do only alterhumans have shifts?
No. During my research I made posts on social media asking the same question, and the answer was as follows:

In addition to this, another comment on a different post, by Crimsons_giant_paws :
As much as it doesn't matter to some, I just wanted to have this information clarified, since someone besides me may have had this doubt, so, in short:
• Otherpaws can have shifts for whatever reason, if it makes you an otherpaw or if it's a requirement to be one, no, it doesn't.
• Having shifts or not doesn't make you any more or less of an otherpaw.
• You don't have to be an alterhuman to have shifts, just like not all alterhumans will have shifts.
Once again, the definition of otherpaw makes it very clear that the goal is not to connect with any altertype or kintype, but if you do it with that purpose it is not wrong, only the purpose changes,
Even though that is not the main goal, the reason is totally personal, it is just a hobby after all...
With that, I hope this was a useful chapter!
