Jake: BONSINOUS NIGHT

As I dragged my heavy luggage out the door, I watched as the same carriage which dropped us home before, stopped right in front of our house. “Twilight! Our ride is here! You might wanna come down with your luggage!” I said as the hackman helped me get my luggage into the carriage. “Thanks,” I said, heading back into the house. “I'll be right back, just going to get my sis.”.
“Alright,” replied the driver. Once I was in Twilight's room, I found her struggling to choose what to wear between a green ugly dress and a black short dress which became curly on the waist. “Jake, thank God you're here. What should I wear?” she asked, holding out the two dresses. “Twily, are you color blind or something? Take the black dress of course. Come on outside, we're waiting for you.” I said as I took her luggage from the corner of her room and dragged it out the door. “Fine, I'll be there in sec!” she shouted as I was now downstairs. Before I could go outside, mother stood in front of me holding a necklace in her hands. The necklace had a small sun amulet. It was kind of cute. “Is that…” I said, thinking maybe something was wrong with the necklace. “No, Jake. This amulet isn't enchanted. It's just an ordinary amulet. Well… kinda ordinary.” she replied. I guess she knew exactly what I was going to think of the amulet beforehand. “What do you mean by kinda?” I said, not ready to take any chances of losing my newly found powers.  “That's for you to find out.” she said. She then shrugged as she said “Anyways, the Hackman must be waiting for you and Twilight outside. Better get going”. Like some kind of witch, Twilight appeared from behind me right after my mother said her name. I could've sworn I almost jumped out of my skin for a moment there. Freaking Wolf Morpher. “What are you guys talking about?” she said, happily as I noticed the same necklace mother gave me on her neck. The only difference was that there was a moon amulet instead of a sun amulet. “Nothing that concerns you, Twilight. Now get going you two.” said mother as she pushed us out the house. “Ouch.” said Twilight, making sure that mother heard her.
As the Hackman dragged Twilight's luggage to the carriage and put it inside, Twilight and I followed from behind. The sound horse hooves could be heard as the two beautiful brown stallions pulled the carriage. “I'm gonna miss this place.” said Twilight as she looked at the beautiful forest we were gradually moving away from. Nothing was different though, the whole Encers itself was a dense forest anyways, but for some reason, even I had grown fond of this place. Maybe because it was where I was born, or maybe because of the animals. “We're gonna come back Twilight. Now don't start sulking for no reason at all.” I said as I also gazed upon the forest. “Yeah right,” Twilight replied in a very sarcastic manner. “We're like literally gonna come back to this place after a whole freakin’ year. What do you mean you emotionless fool.” she said, dramatically. Man, what a drama queen this girl is. “Whatever, Twily.” I said as I rolled my eyes. The rest of the trip was spent with Twilight and I happily chatting about our first experience at the Academy.

Stopping in front of the gate of the Netherbeast Academy, both Twilight and I got out of the carriage with our luggage. Surprisingly,we were met by the werewolf cousins at the gate, Isaac and Michael as they had their hands in their pockets. “Isaac, Michael, thank God you guys are here because I was afraid we were gonna have to carry all our luggage inside.” I said before Isaac hugged me tightly, almost squeezing all the oxygen out of me. “Missed you too, buddy. Now, would you mind letting me breathe, at least.” I said as if being choked as I tried to wriggle out of his warm and yet tight, very tight embrace. Realizing he was going to end up killing me, he let go of me. We then turned to look at Michael and Twilight who were constantly blushing as they failed to give each other proper greetings. “Come on, knowing Michael, he's gonna need more time to just say hi to your sister. I'll help you take your luggage to our room.” said Isaac as he lifted the suitcase and travel bag and carried them inside, I followed, but only after giving Twilight an amused, mischievous grin. “So where are the others?” I asked as we moved through the hallway. “Well, Rachel and Denzel are busy helping out the other professors in decorating the Academy Hall for the BONSINOUS night. Michael and I were the only free ones, so we came to help you guys with your luggage.” he said, reminding me of the so-called Bonsinous night. “Say… tell me more about this ‘Bonsinous night’, please.” I said. I wonder if the Bonsinous night reveals all your powers because if it did, that would mean trouble for both Twilight and myself. “If you insist. The Bonsinous night has been used for millions of years. And over the years it has evolved. This year, the Bonsinous night ceremony is said to have been changed. Last year they used to cast a spell on us to reveal our Netherbeast powers but this year… I'm not quite sure, but it is different. So we had to make different arrangements than we did last year.” said Isaac as we pushed the double doors, entering the boys’ common room. Unlike last time, the room was filled with guys. The room itself was painted in red and white. The whole place was almost fully covered with two colours. When I looked at the corner, I saw a red, both muscular and a bit thin, troll seated with his friends who were constantly trying to gain his attention. Which failed as he seemed to be daydreaming about whatever he was looking at in the picture he was holding. “I wonder what it's gonna be like? How was your Bonsinous night?” I asked curiously as I opened the white wooden door which led to everyone's rooms. “It was amazing. I literally almost freaked out when I first shifted into my werewolf form in front of everyone at the ceremony.” he replied. He seemed to have enjoyed his Bonsinous night, but mine seems to be stressing me out rather than getting me excited. I had totally forgotten to ask mother about the Bonsinous night, what if it'd reveal mine and Twilight's secret. No, I can't let that happen. “It was your first time?” I asked, looking confused. “Well… yeah. It was my first. Werewolves actually shift for the first time when they are now at least 13 to 14 years. I shifted at the age of 14, making me less experienced than my brother Michael who shifted at the age of 12.” he said as he opened the door to our room. The thought of calling this our room gave me butterflies in my stomach. Snap out of it, Jake. “Wait a minute, 12 years old? Isn't that a bit too young? Wasn't it painful?” I asked. I thought he said werewolves shift at the age of 13 to 14 years old. How come Michael shifted at the age of 12, if I was him, I would be dead. I mean he was just a kid back then. How on earth could he handle the pain of shifting? “Yeah, he’s the first ever werewolf to shift at the age of 12, making him quite popular in the werewolf pack. Sometimes, I feel a bit like an outcast even though I'm the son of the Alpha.” he replied as we placed my things properly in the…I mean, our room. “I'm sorry you feel that way but, I'm sure Michael means no harm.” I said, hoping he didn't hate his cousin just because of this. “Of course he doesn't. Michael and I are brothers forever, but I can't help feel like people start comparing me to my brother, It just doesn't sit well with me.”  he said. My things were now all in place as we finally laid on the bed as we continued talking. “Wait, if you're the Alpha's son, does that mean you're the next Alpha of the pack?” I squealed in excitement. “Maybe yes maybe no. My father has the power to chose anyone in his family as Alpha. So it may even be Michael or my stupid big sister Sarah who lives with her boyfriend in the human realm. She's 24 years old, don't worry.” he said. Well that's a bummer. I was actually excited to be having a future werewolf pack Alpha as my roommate. “Alright,” I said before I let out a sigh. “So has Twilight gotten her powers?” asked Isaac. “Yes, she has.” I said as I turned to look at Isaac who was already looking at me. “What are her powers? Is she a troll or a Sanimorph?” he asked, seeming to be dying from curiosity. I then decided to torture the poor guy a little bit. If Twilight wasn't here, he was going to be the replacement. “Well… she is….” I said making sure to stretch the words as long as I could. Only to say, “you're gonna find out tonight anyways, so what's the hurry?”.  As his pure angelic smile went from it's enticing state to an annoyed frown. He's eyes then flashed a bright violet as he jumped and landed on top of me, pinning me to the bed. “Tell me what her powers are?!” he roared. For some reason, I didn't seem to have even a bit of fear in me. My eyes then flashed a bright red as I easily overpowered him and went on top of him. Stubbornly sitting on his… waist,  I think. I snarled as I refused to get off. “It's not gonna be so easy to scare me off, wolfboy.” I said, before we both broke out in laughter. As the tension disappeared, the guy literally pushed me, making me fall on the floor, hard. “Oi!” I yelled from the floor of our room. “Call me ‘wolf boy’ again, and you're gonna get more than a sore back.” he said with a triumphant smile on his face as he peaked down at me from the bed. “I'm so afraid, backstabber.” I said, sarcastically. It seemed to be fun annoying him, but it was also a challenge and I don't back down from challenges so easily.  He then chuckled as  he helped me get up. I wonder what Twilight must be doing?, I thought to myself. “Are you gonna wear that to the ceremony?” asked Isaac as he pointed to my amulet. “Why not?” I asked. It was a gift from my mother, it would be rude to just take it off. “Well, no one is allowed to bring any enchanted accessories of any kind as they will disrupt the ceremony. There should only be one power working on the Bonsinous night, and that is the Moon Goddess.” he replied. Moon Goddess? Isn't that like a werewolf fantasy? “Isn't the Moon Goddess just a werewolf myth?” I asked. “Firstly, it's not a myth. Secondly, she is the deity of all Netherbeast clans. Even Vampires. Her powers are extremely powerful.” he said as he stood up from the bed and opened his drawer, taking out a bottle of water. “What about the whole mate thing? Does it count for other Netherbeasts as well?” I asked. If it did, then in three years from now, I would be mated to someone who I might not even know! To my surprise, Isaac only chuckled and said “No, now that one is just a made up myth by mortal humans. I read one of their novels once and damn, humans can exaggerate. When I read their novels, for a moment I felt a bit enraged and jealous. We aren't left naked after a shift but we certainly wish we could smell as good as them. Like seriously, have you ever heard of anybody smelling arousal? Like that is so…mad.?” he said. He did have a point though. “So you can't smell arousal?” I asked. “Of course I can’t. Besides the whole getting naked after a shift and the arousal smelling thing, werewolves can do almost everything in human novels.” he said. That's a relief. “Joker I see, suits you. You should go to a circus and sign up to be a clown.” I teased the guy as I nudged his shoulder. “Yeah whatever,” he said as he got up from the bed, throwing a pillow at me. “Anyways, you should probably get ready for the ceremony tonight. Only 4 hours before it starts. C'mon, stand up. I'll help you get ready.” he said as he pulled me up from the bed. “Why?” I whined. “You have to look your best if you wanna make a good impression on the students of Netherbeast Academy.” he said, finally managing to push me inside the bathroom and locking it from the outside. Forcing me to take a shower. Stupid werewolf. Can't I just get at least an hour of sleep. I literally had to travel for hours to get here. So inconsiderate.
