Twilight & Jake: Creature of the Dark part 2

Twilight

After a whole day of waiting for who knows what, I was starting to get anxious. How were we supposed to look for someone in place we barely knew? Even though my friends were here to help me, it all just seemed impossible. We had made it this far, not knowing what we were going to do next, what would be the next step and how were we going to do this.

Slowly, I got lost in my own thoughts as I sat at the entrance of the cave. My head burried in my knees. It had been raining non-stop for the past two days, disabling us from going looking for food or anything. Luckily, the rain had stopped a few hours ago. The hunger was starting to get the best of me, to be honest.

" Twilight," a voice spoke. I looked up to find Jake and Rachel standing in front of me. " We're making plans to go hunting." Jake spoke.

" What? Oh, right. Wait, I'll be there in a minute." I replied. Struggling a little, I stood up and leaned against the wall, but quickly regained my posture.

" Alright, are you sure your wolf can take it? I mean you can take it?" Jake asked.

" Yes, Jake. I'll be fine. Anyways, you need me and my Sanimal. We're better at hunting than any of you here." I teased.

" I wouldn't be so sure about that. We have two Werewolves and a Bird of prey shapeshifter as friends. If I may remind you. Not to mention a Vampire as well." He replied as we walked towards the rest of the group.

" My  claim still stands." I teased again.

Once we reached our friends at the centre of the cave we made an agreement as to who would go hunting and who would stay. Michael and Rachel decided to stay behind so they could look after the cave and protect our territory. It was the only shelter we could rely on at the moment.

With my dagger in hand, Denzel, Isaac, Jake and I made our way to the woods. The ground was still wet and muddy from the heavy rain. Despite the rain being over. The sun was still covered up by rain clouds which seemed ready to pour.

" Smell anything?" Jake asked. Althought it was true that Empyrean Bloods had Divine powers as well, it wasn't at all true that this enhanced some of our other senses. The rest of our powers were all pure Netherbeast abilities. " Isaac. Twilight?"

" No" Isaac and I replied in unison.

" What about you, Denzel?" He asked again.

" Not a single scent of fresh blood." Denzel replied. He was standing on top of a tree branch, trying to boost his sense of sight and smell somehow.

" Must be because of the rain. It washed out all scent of what is leaving." I said.

" And footprints, apperantly" Denzel added before jumping off the tree.

" If we continue exploring the forest, we might get close enough to smell some kind of animal. " Isaac said.

" You do have a point, but it would be best if we split up. That way we an hunt faster, right?" Jake replied.

" What if we get lost?" I asked.

" Don't worry, I have a plan." Jake started.

" What would that be?" asked Denzel.

" You go with Twilight and I'll go with Isaac. That way the two of you will follow your own scents back to the cave when done hunting. How about that?" Jake said.

Denzel and Isaac both agreed to the idea but I had to take a moment before rushing into it. " But guys. It's a new place, I'm nt even sure if I'll be able to get us back to the cave again. What if I fail and we don't get back to the cave?" I started stressing. I wasn't even able to understand why I was suddenly starting to doubt my own abilities.
