I was coming from my very first Enchantment class which was honestly quite enjoyable. I was now heading to my Deneria class, alone, as I walked through the crowded hallways. Rachel had to stop by Professor Verman for an elixir to her smord. Having a smord meant one was bitten by a smorder, which Rachel claims to have bitten her at night. Well I for one didn't want to miss Deneria class. I knew that I needed to learn more Defense and attack moves in order to be ready the next time Jake and I planned something as dangerous and reckless as breaking into the castle.
As I was going down the stairs, Erica bumped into me, making all my books fall to the ground. “Sorry, sorry, sorry. I'm so sorry.” she said as she helped me pick up my books from the stairs. “It's fine. Don't worry about it. I should've been looking where I was going as well.” I said, trying to make her feel better as she gave me the books she helped me pick up. “It was my fault too, so I'm really sorry.” she said again. “I said it's fine. Don't stress,okay? No harm done.” I said, noticing something different about her appearance. She didn't look like a red troll anymore. She looked more human really, just like me. I was about to ask when she interrupted me saying, “I'm Erica, by the way. Erica Vega”. “Nice to meet you Erica. I'm Twilight Anderson.” I said. “Twilight Anderson? As in, you're one of the famous missing twins?” she said in utter shock. “Yes, well… I guess so. Why? Did I commit a crime by going missing?” I asked sarcastically. “No, it's not that. It's just that, it was really weird how much effort the FIVE put into looking for you two. They spent four years looking for you two until they finally gave up.” she said. Four years! Were we really that important to them? “Why were they looking for us for so long?” I asked. Only to be replied with another question, “The real question here is… why did you run away?”. I myself wasn't sure if they even still knew us, how was I supposed to know? When I was about to reply, I heard a loud bang followed by a fearsome but painful roar suddenly coming from the other side of the wall. Which was weird as I wasn't even sure there was a room on the other side. “Did you hear that?” I asked as I slowly moved closer to the wall. “Hear what?” asked Erica. I placed my right hand on the wall as I said to her, “That sound. The roar and that loud bang. It sounded like something huge banging on a hard surface.” I said as the roars and banging became louder and increasingly more irritating. “What do you…” Erica said, not finishing her question as she got shocked seeing my eyes start to glow a bright cold and icy shade of blue. “What… what are you?” she asked. No one had really seen the actual colour of my eyes yet, even during the BONSINOUS night. It was all due to the help of the amulet that helped my eyes appear to be a golden colour instead of blue, but now that the amulet had lost its powers, it couldn't hide my true form anymore so I simply chose not to wear it.
I unwillingly ignored her question and focused on the sound. Seconds later I heard the same voice from the dungeons, calling out to me. Twilight, you have to come find me. Just come to me. Come save me. Release me from torture and confinement, it whispered. I then put my ear on the wall trying to hear more. Come to me, where the ball of light descends from the East and ascends from the West, where one who dies is never truly dead, where shoth rules over shaeth and the creatures of the night are at their very worst!, the voice said, so loud that it made me stumble and fall down backwards, making me roll down the stairs. Erica called out to me as she came down to help me but it was too late. I could feel the blood that had already started oozing out of my head injury I'd suffered as I laid down on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. The last thing I remember seeing was Denzel pushing through the crowd that had surrounded me, trying to get to me. After that, I completely blacked out. Not today. It had only been two months since I last heard the voice, now that I hear it, this happens.

Waking up in the same room, I had woken up about two times in the past two months. I sighed as I saw Professor Verman busy searching his bag for something. It was probably the Fendort potion he’d prepared for me, again. “Aaah, there you are,” he said as he took out the disgusting red potion from his bag. “Don't worry, dear. You'll be fine once I'm done with you.”. I rolled my eyes at his statement, I didn't want to take that awful potion again. But I had no choice, I also couldn't disobey a Professor. He then helped me drink the Fendort potion and for some reason, it wasn't all that bad. Maybe I'd gotten used to it. “Thank you, Professor.” I said with a genuine smile on my face. “You're welcome, Miss Anderson. Now if you don't mind, I have to go and attend to my other patients. People seemed to have failed Deneria class quite badly today. One senior ended up casting the Malvado curse on a junior because he was apparently too good and better than him.” he said as he packed up his herbs, potions and elixirs. “Really?” I said in disbelief. “Yes indeed, the Junior’s name was Danny and the Senior was McDonald Rodriguez. Do you know what the Malvado curse does?” he said. “Not really, I've only learnt one spell so far, and it isn't a curse.” I replied. “Well, the Malvado curse causes the victim to turn into stone temporarily. Luckily I got the elixir to that. Speaking of which, I would really love to stay and chat with you more but…I have to go attend to Danny right now.” he said as he reached for the door knob. “ That's okay. I'm just glad I didn't go for Deneria.” I joked. Professor Verman chuckled before leaving out the door.
“I wonder what that riddle meant. Was it trying to direct me somewhere?  Of course it was, but to where? Obviously I'll need help from the others. Well…at least someone who knows Encers like the back of their hand.” saying that, I remembered Erica. “Erica, after what she saw, she must be thinking I'm a demon or something. I just hope she didn't tell anyone. Wait, what if she did tell someone?” I said to myself. “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no ,no, no, this can't happen.” I said as I got up from the bed and started grabbing my books. “Please be timid enough to keep this secret, Erica. If not, I might have to move again.” I said as I went out the door.
Once I was outside, I walked through the corridor which had quite a lot of rooms, I'm thinking maybe forty rooms. Each one must've had a patient waiting to be treated. I wonder which room Danny was in? After walking for about a few seconds, I reached the main door and got out of the Healing Croeb. As soon as I stepped out I was met with a worried Denzel and Rachel. “Twilight,” they said as they hugged me tight. “We thought we'd lost you for a second there.” said Denzel as he pulled out of the hug along with Rachel. “I thought I'd lost my mind. I couldn't comprehend what was happening.” I replied. “Wait a minute. If you were nowhere near the dungeons, then how did this happen again?” asked Rachel. I didn't know myself, how was I going to answer her? “I don't know, but we can't talk about it here. Let's go outside.” I said. They both nodded in response before we went outside. I guess I had to tell them sometime. I already knew that Rachel had seen my Empyrean powers at work but she never asked. Which was a relief because I didn't know what to say to her. Maybe that Jake and I are a hybrid species of Netherbeasts and Divine Beings, or that we simply have some extra talents? Once we got outside, we sat ourselves down at a picnic bench far from any students. It was clear that I needed to tell them the truth but, without Jake, it just didn't seem right. But I had to, right? “Tell us Twilight, what did you hear this time?” said Rachel. “Hold up. This time? How did you know I heard something the previous time?” I asked. Like seriously, how did she know? “I had gotten quite curious after I saw your eyes glow like that. It was definitely not normal for a Sanimorph to have blue eyes. So instead of asking you, I did my own research. You're an Empyrean blood, aren't you?” she said, making Denzel look even more confused. “Empyrean blood?” said Denzel. I could see he was already shocked. “I… I can explain, but first, did you tell anyone else?” I said. Hoping she didn't. “Pfft. Twilight, I do my own research. I don't need to tell anyone. I…just wanted to prove my theory. So I used our family's book of Torio, also known as the book of Knowledge.” she said. “Wait a minute, I thought you weren't allowed to use the book of Torio?” said Denzel. So he also knew about this ‘book of Torio’. “C'mon, that was like five years ago. I was too young to understand its powers. But since I'm fifteen now, my parents allowed it.” she replied. “How many people have this ‘book of Torio’?” I asked. Clearly hoping for nobody else for an answer. “Just my family. It's a family heirloom passed down to every heir of the family.” she said. “So it's just your family?” I said, trying to confirm. “Yep,” replied Rachel.
“So you're an Empyrean blood?” asked Denzel. I could see the curiosity in his eyes growing. Jake was going to kill me! “Yes, and Jake as well.” I said. As soon as I said that, Jake, along with Isaac and Michael appeared from the forest behind us, running like crazy. Like it was nothing, Jake leapt and went above us, landing on all fours in front of us. “Jake!” I whisper screamed as I saw his eyes flash a bright bloody red. “What if someone sees you?” I said. Jake stood up and said, “Look, guys. I can explain. You see…”. “You're an Empyrean blood?” said Rachel. “If that's what you wanna say then we already know.” she stated. “You know too?” said Michael and Isaac in unison. “The real question here is, how do you know?” I asked. After telling us how they found out, I looked at Jake with a death stare. “Okay how could you be so careless!?” I said.
“Careless? You did the same.” replied Jake. “I was not in control that time whilst you were fully aware of the consequences of doing that!” I said. I had a valid reason but his was not concrete enough. “Guys, do you want everyone to know? People here have supernatural hearing if I may remind you.” said Rachel, reminding me of what happened back at the staircase. “Speaking of which, does anyone know where Erica is?” I asked. “I had seen her running like some wild cheetah in the woods just a few moments ago,” said Isaac. If I was able to move so freely and easily in the Academy, then she must've not told anyone yet, but what if she was on her way to tell someone right now!? “Why are you looking for her anyways?” asked Jake. “She was present when I heard that mysterious voice again. I have to find her before she tells anyone about me.” I said as I stood up from the bench.
“We have to find Erica,” said Rachel. Both Jake and I looked at her a bit confused. Why would she want to help an Empyrean blood? “It's not just you two, anymore? It's us now, right guys?” said Rachel. “Yes” everyone said in unison. “But why?” said Jake. “It's because you're our friends. Maybe too soon but from what we've learnt, ‘learning to be a member of a pack starts from your friends. Your friends will always be your first pack, no matter what they are.’ , and you…are a part of the pack.” said Isaac. “It's true, we learnt this in HONNIB last year.” said Denzel in a cheerful tone. “What we're trying to say is, you're not alone. We don't care what kind of blood runs through your veins. You're our friend and friends come first.” said Michael. A smile was instantly visible on my face as I said, “Let's go then.”.
“So if we're going to look for this girl, shouldn't we go now?” said Jake. “Oh yeah, right. Everybody, run.” said Isaac as he quickly ran forward and entered the forest from behind. With us following from behind. Rachel, Jake and I morphed into our Sanimal forms while the rest ran in human form. They were just as fast though.
With Rachel beautifully flapping her wings above us and gliding in the sky, we ran quicker than anything I've ever seen. I felt so alive. I wanted to run some more but I stopped when I saw a red blurry figure in the corner of my eye. I morphed back into human and called out to everyone else. “There she is!” I said, pointing at a 10 foot tall red troll. It was Erica! She had her long red hair down and she wasn't wearing her glasses. “Are you sure that's Erica? She looks even more monstrous than a Werewolf and Vampire combined. No offense.” said Jake. “None taken,” said Michael. “We get that a lot. Trolls can be quite huge and monstrous when under a strong emotion. Unlike us, they're transformation is usually triggered by fear. But they can control it through the use of a spell or enchanted accessory.” said Isaac as the fierce beast in front of us uprooted a tree and threw it right at us. “Okay, I'm guessing we've been spotted.” said Denzel in a cowardly tone. Luckily, I was able to use my telekinetic powers to stop the tree from hitting us. Instead, I made it fly right back at Erica and hit her, which made her fall on her back. “Wow,” said Isaac. “Okay, so about that spell. Do any of you know it?” I asked, desperately. “Not really, but I do remember seeing Erica with a white bracelet all the time,” said Michael. “Maybe that's what she uses for control?” he said again. “If so, then let's look for it already,” I said. “No, someone needs to hold back this troll while the others are looking. You know what? Twilight, Isaac, Michael and I will try to keep the troll, I mean Erica busy while Rachel and Denzel look for the bracelet. How about that?” said Jake. “It sounds just fine but why Denzel and I?” asked Rachel. “Because you and Denzel have an advantage over us when it comes to eyesight. Obviously.” said Isaac. “ Fine,” whined Rachel. Once said, Jake, Michael, Isaac and I shifted while Rachel and Michael used their super eyesight to look for the bracelet.
An Alpha werewolf was known to be at least nine feet tall while a beta was around six to eight feet tall. So being betas, Isaac and Michael were definitely smaller in size compared to Erica, and so was Jake and I, but we were all stronger than her. Isaac slashed Erica's back with his claws while Jake and I bit her ankles hard, giving Michael the chance to advance and bite her neck. Instead of giving in, Erica headbutted Michael, making him fall down to the ground. Since Michael couldn't, I took a few steps back and leapt high up at Erica and bit her neck. She instantly pushed me away with as much force but she had gotten weaker. Jake on the other side, bit Erica's right ankle with help of Isaac who bit her left ankle, this made her more weak and she fell to the ground. Even then she didn't give up. The battle went on minute after minute while Rachel and Denzel were looking for the bracelet.
Rachel's eyes shone a beautiful gold while Denzel's eyes had a bright green color on display. With the roars, snarls and whining of a fierce battle going on a few meters away from them, Rachel and Denzel were starting to get worried as well. “We should probably hurry, sounds like they could use our help.” said Denzel as they continued to search the ground thoroughly. “Yep, wait a minute…what color was the bracelet?” said Rachel. “White. It was white.” replied Denzel. Rachel knelt down and picked up the luminescent white bracelet before shouting, “I found it! I found the bracelet!”.  Suddenly, she heard the sounds of battle stop all of a sudden. It was Jake.
A few seconds back, Isaac had tried to land another strike with his claws on her face but instead, Erica grabbed his wrist, twisted his arm and threw him to the side, making him hit a tree and shift back to human form. This had made Jake angry as Isaac couldn't even fight anymore. He morphed back to human and advanced to Erica. Erica did the same and when she tried to punch Jake, he easily blocked it with just one hand. With his eyes still glowing a fierce bloody red, Jake punched Erica in the face, making her take a few steps back. She tried to land another attack but instead she was met with a powerful front kick from Jake which sent her flying into the air until she hit a tree and fell down. Taking the chance, I morphed back and used my telekinetic powers to bind Erica to the tree when she tried to get up. “Ugh!” she groaned in pain. “Let me go!” she roared. “Not so soon, Erica.” I said as I focused all my powers trying to keep her numb. In a few seconds, Rachel and Denzel came running to us with a bracelet. “We found it, we found the bracelet,” said Rachel. They both looked around and looked shocked when they saw Jake and Michael helping Isaac to stand. With his arms around both of their necks. “Great, put it on her wrist. It's getting harder to hold her back.” I said. Rachel then quickly ran to Erica and forcefully made her wear the bracelet. This instantly made Erica transform back to human form. Every ounce of strength she had in her was gone. All she had now were her innocent features. Her fair skin was back and her once bright pink eyes had now faded into a deep brown. “Where…where am I?” she asked, looking clueless. “Well… I was, I mean we were just trying to stop you from telling anyone else about what happened back in the Academy, when we found you in the form of a monstrous troll so we had to distract you while Rachel and Denzel looked for your bracelet. And here we are.” I said, clearly going out of breath. I then took a moment to look at the badly injured girl. Erica had serious injuries all over her body. “Tell someone? I don't even know what you are.” Erica replied. “Only just a few weeks ago, we were all just as oblivious as you.” said Rachel. “Twily, you can let go of her now.” Jake said as he still assisted Isaac to stand straight. “Oh right” I said before I released her. “We're Empyrean bloods, well.. just Jake and I.” I said again. “What!? Empyrean bloods. Aren't they supposed to be extinct or something?” she said in disbelief. “Well as you can see, we're not. Now would you just please promise to never tell anyone about this, otherwise our family will have to move again.” said Jake. “ Okay, I promise I won't tell anyone. Cross my heart and hope to die. I know what it's like to be treated differently and seen as weird, maybe it's different in your case but I still know what it's like. Now will someone please…!” she said before passing out and falling down on the ground. “Oh no” said Isaac who was now all healed and was standing by himself. “What do we do?” asked Denzel. “ Take her to Professor Verman?” Michael suggested. “ No, we can't. Let me try something.” I said before walking up to the unconscious girl. I then placed my right hand on her arm, Jake followed and did the same. From what we learnt in HONNIB, Empyrean bloods had the power to heal others, so we tried just that. Focusing all our energy, a bright golden luminescent light was emitted from our hands as Erica's wounds started to heal. They healed quicker than they would've normally taken. “This is incredible.” said Michael. “Hey, why didn't you do the same for me?” asked Isaac.
“We just hadn't thought about it yet.” I replied as Jake and I stood up. “Seriously?” asked Isaac. “Seriously.” I replied. I then stood next to Rachel as she asked me, “ Why isn't she awake yet?”. 
“We don't know, maybe we should take her to Professor Verman.” said Jake as he went and stood in between Denzel and Isaac. “Probably” said Denzel. Michael then used his strength to carry Erica on his shoulder before we started going back to the Academy. “I'm still pissed at you guys for not healing me though” said Isaac as our voices faded as we got farther. “Whatever,” Jake and I replied.
