The door to Gabriel’s bedroom shut with a dull, final thud, sealing Zahra inside. The air in the room was frigid, an almost unnatural cold that seemed to emanate from the walls themselves. The grand, imposing bed in the center of the room was the only piece of furniture, but even it offered no comfort. It was as though the space had been designed to strip away any warmth, leaving nothing but control and submission in its wake.
Gabriel stood near the fireplace, though no flames burned there. His eyes were as unreadable as ever, but his presence filled the room with an oppressive weight that pressed down on Zahra’s chest. She stood frozen by the door, her heart pounding, trying to steady her breath, but the ice in the room mirrored the icy command in his voice.
“You will stay here tonight,” he said flatly, his tone leaving no room for argument. “And every night after.”
Zahra’s breath caught in her throat. “You can’t keep me here,” she said, though her voice wavered under the intensity of his gaze. “I won’t stay.”
Gabriel turned to face her fully, the expression on his face devoid of any emotion. It wasn’t anger, but something far more terrifying complete and utter indifference to her defiance. His lips barely moved as he delivered his next words, each syllable biting like frost.
“You will stay because I am telling you to. And you have no other choice.”
Zahra’s stomach twisted. The certainty in his voice chilled her to the core. “What gives you the right—”
“I own you now.” The statement was so cold, so ruthless, that Zahra flinched, feeling the weight of those words wrap around her like chains. Gabriel’s eyes bore into her, their intensity terrifyingly calm. “You’ve seen what I’m capable of. Defy me, and your company, your reputation everything you’ve built will be destroyed. You will have nothing. No one to turn to. No escape.”
His voice dropped to a whisper, the tone so controlled it was almost terrifying in its precision. "Obey me or lose everything."
Zahra stood still, her back pressed against the door, feeling trapped not just in the room but in the inescapable reality of his control. The cold seeped into her bones, the room shrinking around her as she realized that there was no way out. She was a prisoner, not just in this house but in a life Gabriel had planned for her a life dictated by his rules, his whims.
“I never agreed to this,” she whispered, her voice trembling with anger and fear.
“You don’t need to agree,” Gabriel said, his voice now softer, though no less commanding. “Your silence is enough.”
Zahra’s heart pounded in her chest, the enormity of her situation becoming clearer with every passing second. She had been cornered, and Gabriel had closed every possible escape route. His cold, unyielding demeanor made it painfully clear there would be no negotiating, no room for resistance.
“Get used to it,” Gabriel said, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. “This is your new reality.”
Zahra’s mind raced, but her body remained frozen, her gaze locked on Gabriel’s. The room felt even colder now, the air heavy with a suffocating sense of inevitability.
“Go to the bed,” Gabriel ordered, his voice leaving no room for defiance. “You’re mine now, and it’s time you understand that.”
Zahra’s body tensed, but she couldn’t move. Every part of her wanted to resist, to scream, but she was trapped, not just physically but mentally. Gabriel’s control was absolute, and there was no way out of his icy grip.
With a heavy breath, she took a step forward, each movement feeling like surrender to the cold, suffocating control he held over her. The path to the bed felt like walking into an unrelenting, frozen future, one where her will no longer mattered.
