The morning light filtered into Tyme's bedroom as his phone buzzed next to him. He reached for it groggily, blinking at the screen. A message from Great? He unlocked the phone and squinted at the notification.
It was a document. Confused, Tyme opened it, only to be greeted by a detailed file that resembled a résumé-except it wasn't about job qualifications. It was a comprehensive document about Great himself. Tyme's eyes widened as he scrolled through.
Name: Great Pacharawit
Age: 26
Secondary Gender: Alpha
Hobbies: Driving fast cars, annoying Tyme
Favorite Food: Anything less spicy.
Pets: dog, cats, a snake and I'm thinking of getting a crocodile.
Dislikes: Waiting, formal events and mu dad (he's too controlling)
Fun Fact: "I once crashed my dad's car into a fence because he refused to let me out of the house ."
Goal: "To win Tyme over, obviously."The list went on, filled with Great's preferences, random facts, and even the names of all his pets. Tyme couldn't believe his eyes. When Great had said they should get to know each other better, this was definitely not what he had in mind.
With a disbelieving chuckle, Tyme tossed the phone back onto his bed and shook his head. "This kid..." he muttered under his breath. He climbed out of bed, still smiling, and made his way to the bathroom to get ready for work.
As he brushed his teeth, the ridiculousness of the situation kept replaying in his mind. Only Great would think sending a personal dossier was the way to start getting to know someone. Yet, in a strange way, it was endearing. At least Great was trying-just in his own, over-the-top fashion.
Maybe, Tyme thought, he should send something back. But knowing Great, that would just encourage more antics. With a sigh and a smirk, he decided to leave it be for now.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
"A little bird told me you went on a date," were the first words Tyme heard as Den strolled into his office, uninvited as usual. The nosy friend made himself comfortable, pulling a chair closer to Tyme's desk, eager for gossip.
"And?" Tyme raised an eyebrow, feigning indifference.
"Come on, just spill the details! Was it the rich kid?" Den teased, playfully nudging Tyme on the shoulder.
"Mn..." Tyme just hummed in response, offering no more information.
"Oh, is someone's heart starting to soften?" Den leaned in, continuing his relentless teasing, clearly enjoying the opportunity.
Tyme shot him a look that practically screamed, Enough.
Den laughed but knew when to quit. "Alright, alright, I'll stop." He stood up, his playful demeanor not fading. "So... how did it go?" he asked one last time, a hint of hope in his voice.
Tyme's stare intensified, wordlessly telling him to go back to work.
"Okay, I get it, I'm going!" Den waved, backing toward the door with a grin plastered on his face. He paused just before leaving, giving Tyme one last knowing look, then slipped out of the office.
For the entire day, Tyme kept expecting a call or text from Great, perhaps asking for his details or wanting to continue their conversation. But nothing came. He found himself checking his phone frequently, more than he cared to admit, hoping for a notification. Even when he clocked out and went home, his phone remained silent.
During dinner, Tyme's grandmother noticed his constant glances at the screen, but she chose not to pry this time. She pretended not to notice, letting him stew in his thoughts.
A week passed, and still, there had been no word from Great. Tyme told himself he didn't care-it's not like he was waiting. But it was unusual for someone as persistent as Great to go completely silent, especially after he'd suggested they get to know each other.
