As they ate, Tyme casually asked, "What have you been up to these days?"

Great was a bit surprised that Tyme would ask, so naturally, he couldn’t resist teasing him.

“Why, are you worried about me?” he leaned forward with a smirk.

Tyme sighed. “Why would I be worried about you?” he replied, his tone flat.

“Ouch, that stings,” Great joked, pretending to clutch his chest dramatically. “But since you’re curious, I’ll tell you.”

“It’s actually some family stuff... I recently found out they’ve been keeping a secret from me,” Great began, his tone more serious.

Tyme immediately cut in, “If it's family matters, there’s no need to tell me.” He didn’t want to intrude on something personal.

Great nodded. “Alright,” he said simply and continued eating. They finished the meal in a comfortable silence.

After a while, Great looked up with anticipation. “So, how was it?”

“How was what?” Tyme asked, genuinely confused.

“The food,” Great clarified, his expression eager.

“Oh, it was okay.”

“Just okay?” Great raised an eyebrow, clearly expecting more.

“Mn...” Tyme nodded, keeping his response short. In truth, the food was much better than anything he could cook himself, but he wasn’t about to admit that so easily.

As they cleared the table, Great kept glancing over at Tyme, trying to gauge his real reaction. “You’re not exactly a man of compliments, are you?”

Tyme shrugged, still keeping his thoughts to himself. By the time Great had finished washing the dishes, it was already quite late.

“I should probably head home,” Tyme said, noticing that Great was done.

“Alright, I’ll drive you back,” Great replied, taking off the apron and grabbing his keys. Tyme nodded, standing up to follow him.

The drive was quiet, the silence hanging between them comfortably. Neither seemed to mind, each lost in their own thoughts. As they approached Tyme’s place, Great finally broke the silence.

“You know, you could’ve stayed a little longer,” Great said casually, eyes still on the road.

Tyme glanced over, raising an eyebrow. “Why would I do that?”

Great smirked. “I don't know. Maybe you like spending time with me more than you admit.”

Tyme rolled his eyes but couldn’t suppress a small smile. "Keep dreaming."

When they pulled up in front of Tyme’s house, Great stopped the car but didn’t unlock the doors right away. He turned to Tyme, his expression more serious now. “I had a good time tonight... I hope we can do this again.”

Tyme hesitated for a moment, taken aback by Great’s sudden sincerity. “Mn,” he finally responded.

“Oh, I almost forgot,” Tyme said, remembering something. “Why did you send me your resume the other day?”

Great grinned. “Didn’t we agree to get to know each other?”

“But... a resume?” Tyme raised an eyebrow. “So, what? You want me to send one too?”

“If you want,” Great teased with a shrug. Silence settled between them for a moment before Tyme broke it again.

“Alright, what do you want to know?” He turned to face forward, waiting for Great’s questions.

Great thought for a second, then asked, “What’s your type?”

Tyme blinked, genuinely surprised. “That’s your first question?”

Great just grinned wider. “What? It’s important information!”

Tyme let out a tired sigh, clearly unimpressed. “I don’t know,” he replied flatly.

Great gasped dramatically beside him. “How can you not know your type?”

“Is it really necessary?” Tyme shrugged.

Great sighed as if deeply disappointed. “Okay, then. What kind of people have you dated before?”

Silence.

Great’s eyes widened as he caught on to the lack of response. “Wait… don’t tell me…”

“Mn,” Tyme confirmed quietly.

“You’ve never been in a relationship?” Great asked, visibly shocked.

“What’s there to be so surprised about?” Tyme replied, unfazed.

“So, that means I’ll be your first.” Great leaned in closer, flashing a mischievous grin.
“Don’t be so full of yourself,” Tyme shot back, rolling his eyes. “Besides, I’m not your type.”

Great looked genuinely offended. “What do you mean? You’re totally my type.”

Tyme turned to face him, shaking his head. “I’m not.”

“Why do you say that?” Great asked, confused.

“Aren’t you into alphas?” Tyme crossed his arms, waiting for the reaction.

Great furrowed his brow, about to ask what Tyme meant—wasn’t he an alpha? But before he could get the words out, Tyme finally admitted, “I’m not an alpha like you thought I was.”

Great’s eyes widened in disbelief. “Wh... what do you mean?”

“I’m an enigma,” Tyme said calmly.

Great stared at Tyme, completely at a loss for words. He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out at first. His mind was racing, trying to process the unexpected revelation.

“I... I didn’t expect that,” he finally managed to say, his voice quieter than usual. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

Tyme shrugged. “You never asked. You just assumed.”

Great sat frozen, his hands still gripping the steering wheel as Tyme stepped out. His mind was spinning, trying to make sense of what he'd just heard. An enigma? He had never encountered anyone like Tyme before, and the surprise left him speechless.

Tyme gave a polite nod, catching Great's eye before closing the door. "Thanks for dinner... and the ride," he said quietly. Without waiting for a response, he turned and headed toward his building.

Great watched him go, feeling a mix of confusion, curiosity, and something else he couldn’t quite name. He wanted to call out to him, ask more questions, but the words stayed stuck in his throat.

As Tyme disappeared inside, Great leaned back in his seat, running a hand through his hair. "What just happened?" he muttered to himself. He had expected tonight to be light and fun, but this new revelation was something he hadn't prepared for.

He started the car, but even as he drove away, his thoughts were still on the quiet man he'd just dropped off.

Tyme stood by the window, watching Great’s car disappear down the street. He ran his fingers through his hair, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension. He knew that revealing the truth might complicate things, but he believed it was better to be upfront with Great now rather than later when feelings had the chance to deepen.

As the car turned the corner, Tyme felt a pang of uncertainty. He had never let anyone get this close before, and while the idea of a relationship was enticing, he was also aware of the potential pitfalls. Would Great still want to pursue him knowing he wasn’t an alpha?

With a heavy sigh, he pulled away from the window and headed to the kitchen, trying to shake off the weight of the evening. He had to remind himself that it was just one date, one unexpected conversation. Whatever it was between them didn’t have to define him or their relationship—at least not yet.

Still, Tyme couldn't ignore the flicker of excitement he felt at the thought of Great, even if he was still unsure of where this path might lead. As he washed his hands and prepped for bed, a part of him wondered if he would hear from Great again soon.
