"Dreams that come true can be beautiful, but they can also turn into nightmares when people won't wake up" ~ Caraval by Stephanie Garber

In this world, life played the cards but the circus created them.
In my world.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, welcome to circus carnival. I am Levid your ring master. You'll be thrilled, you'll be hypnotized, you'll be entertained. I promise", the words smoothly flowed out of his mouth. As all of his pledges were attached with chains to his lips, waiting to break free from their cages.

"Close your eyes to the sound of magic and open them to the sight of wonders and dreams that are just waiting for you to come true.
Because in circus carnival everything you can imagine of, is possible. So spotlight on the hell of the heaven 'cause everything happens within a reason and without a warning."
I could see the sparks in the eyes of the audience, as they believed in all those stupid little wonders, banging inside their chests.
I felt guilty, knowing full well, that they were told lies.

His words filled the air with curiousity, with a demand to dive deeper into the acts of the carnival.
It was like they were already mesmerized by the circus, as if the magic already did it's work to embrace them into their own graves.

And it was too late to save them now.

I was peeping from behind the crimson curtain, in the silent hope, that everything would be over fast. Just as in every halloween night.
Levid stood there on his podium, high over the crowd and merely looking like the ruler he was.
I could feel the threads in my bones, the thorns on my skin, leaving me behind in a lake full of bloody red roses.
And I detested it with all of my heart.

The big top was teemed with thunderous applause, echoing the tremendous lights all over the place.
And the ring master enjoyed it, sucked it up as if it was the taste of success. As if he had already won.
And he had.
I could feel it by way his bodylanguage spoke.

Invincible and powerful, while leaving the entire planet back powerless.

Levid could have killed by just one smile. One dirty little smile.
It was war.
I am not living in war, I am not living in war, I am not living in war.

I was just stuck in a line, a sanity, in which you couldn't differentiate anymore what was real and what was not.
The war was the realest illusion ever and that made us go insane.

I am not insane, I am not insane, I am not insane.

The cheers subsided as all the lights apart one, which was headed at the director himself, went off.
The tent was genuinely silent, I could perceive the shadows, leading the dances of the night.
Addicting the people bejond the surface of the cruel truth.
He gave them a devilish grin, his eyes flashing into a dark violet, as he lifted off the hat and turned into a bow.

Just as the audience gave him all their attention, as they were fully attracted by the guide of the performance. The distance which would trick them till no effort could put them into defense.
That was the moment he used their wishes, their hopes.

And he vanished in a cloud of smoke, like tadow, exploding into dust of pink and blue.

Another joyful applause attended the tent as the real act began. As the tune resounded, creating a spectacle of intrigue.
