Y/n and Jungkook sat cross-legged on the floor of her apartment, surrounded by a mess of old books, crystals, and candles. They'd been at it for hours, flipping through pages and trying out different spells from the damned book that got them in that trouble.
They first tried with the solution that was given in the page behind his spell, but he didn't feel anything, so they tried with the different solutions that kept coming up throughout the different spells for different things, even if they had nothing to do with what he wanted to erase.
—This one says you have to meditate under a full moon —Y/n read out loud, holding up a page with a dubious-looking diagram.
—Naked? —he arched his eyebrows with a malicious smile, earning an eye roll from her before dropping the book to her lap.
—Well, if you want to... It's up to you.
—Should we both do it together so it gets more power?
—You're making me regret helping you —she assured him, narrowing her eyes while dropping her head.
—I was just thinking of ways to make it work —he shrugged.
—You should eat a sprig of parsley while you do it —she commented, ignoring his approach.
Since he first stepped inside her place, it became impossible for her to concentrate on what they were there for. Jungkook always had a look, a smile, a comment... anything that completely diverted them from what they were doing. That was why they spent the entirety of her Saturday sitting on the floor, in front of a book and a bunch of snacks, with several sheets of paper displayed around them with weird sketches.
—I'd rather stay cursed than do that —he snorted, leaning back on his hands.
—That's how bad you want to date me, I see —the book made a dry sound that echoed in the room through the silence as she closed it.
—Wait, no, I'll do it —Jungkook smiled, trying to stop her from getting up—. I'll eat a whole tree if I have to.
—The sprig of parsley is enough —Y/n clicked her tongue, going back to her place while looking through the pages—. I still don't understand, what did you feel when you think the curse was thrown on you?
—I mean, it wasn't the moment Carly said those words, but later that night —he frowned—. It was like something was opening up my chest and taking my heart out.
His hand flew to his chest just by remembering the sensation, and how hopeless he felt. For a second, Jungkook felt like he was dying and there was no turning back. He even saw the way his life played through his eyes like a movie. It was so frustrating... and scary.
—You, so used to treating girls like objects, will be burdened by the pain of being treated the same way. Love will be an unknown word in your dictionary from now on so when you find The One, you will be repaid with everything you've been giving others —Y/n pursed her lips, repeating the same words that were said to him, for the seventh time that day—. You did hurt her enough for her to go these lengths. My ex is so lucky I don't believe in this.
—I wasn't even dating her. I can't imagine what she'd have done if we had dated —he scoffed.
Y/n looked over at him when he spoke, and something in her made her believe there was no point for Jungkook to just lie about that. He was so shameless, that he probably would've admitted his crime with grace and would've pretended to play it as if it weren't a big deal.
—You didn't once think of dating her? Or anyone? —she asked.
No.
That was the clearest answer he had in his mind.
