Jungkook woke up slowly, blinking in the soft morning light filtering through the blinds. The warmth beside him stirred slightly, and it was only then that he realized he was tangled around Y/n, his arm draped across her waist. Her back was pressed snugly against his chest, and instead of moving away like he probably should've, Jungkook found himself smiling and -against all logic- snuggling closer.
He could feel her slow, steady breaths, the rise and fall of her chest, and it was...comforting. Too comforting.
Y/n stirred, half-asleep, letting out a soft, sleepy murmur that made Jungkook chuckle under his breath. He had no intention of moving. The way her hair smelled faintly like cocoa, the warmth radiating from her -it was addictive. He allowed himself to stay in that bubble for a few more minutes, soaking in the closeness.
Eventually, Y/n began to wake up, her eyelids fluttering open. She realized the situation, felt the heavy weight of Jungkook's arm, and tensed slightly.
—Jungkook —she whispered, her voice groggy but cautious.
—Hmm —he hummed lazily, burying his face into her hair and pulling her just a little bit closer, ignoring the obvious shift in her posture.
—Kook —Y/n repeated, a little more firmly this time.
—What? —his voice was muffled, but she could hear the playful smile behind it—. I'm comfortable.
—I'm not asking if you're comfortable. We can't stay like this —she muttered, but made no immediate move to pull away.
—Says who? —he quipped, pressing a gentle kiss to her shoulder, earning an eye roll from her, though she couldn't hide the small smile tugging at her lips.
—Says me —Y/n finally sat up, reluctantly extracting herself from his hold and sliding to the edge of the bed—. And I need to get back to my apartment to get ready
Jungkook's brow furrowed as he propped himself up on his elbow, watching her with a frown.
—Your place is still a mess —he reminded her—. Why not stay here for a few more days?
She shook her head, pulling from the sheets to keep her body covered.
—I can't. I had enough with living with you the time we had to.
Jungkook huffed dramatically, falling back onto the pillows like a child who had just been told "no.", while Y/n walked outside to pick up her clothes.
—Come on, Y/n. Just stay a little longer. It'll be safer.
—You just want me here to keep you entertained —she teased, completely dressed with the clothes she was wearing the previous night.
—Partly true —he smirked, not bothering to deny it—. But also...I like having you here.
Y/n paused, her fingers stilling as she tried not to let that simple statement affect her.
—I need to go back —she said more softly this time.
Staying there wouldn't end well.
Sitting up, Jungkook threw his legs over the side of the bed and leaned toward her, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
—Fine, you win. Go back to your place. But only if you go on a date with me first.
Y/n shot him a look, her brow raised.
—A date? Jungkook, it doesn't work like this.
Y/n walked outside the room, which made him sprint towards the door to block it, making her huff -although, deep inside, she was loving every second.
