When they were first told about the pipe problem, they didn't think it was going to be anything big. Actually, they thought it was something that would get solved quietly. That type of problems that you know are there, but don't pay attention to them. And when they remembered that problem existed, it'd be solved. But they couldn't be more wrong.
Y/n and Jungkook kept pushing each other, trying to impose who was the one who should be standing there and who was the one who needed to leave. With the little problem that both of them were stubborn in keeping their place.
All the neighbors were reunited at the entrance of the building, after one of the pipes blew and almost flooded one of the apartments on the first floor.
—So, I know I already mentioned this, but due to the explosion that took place today, we have no other choice but to repair the pipes in the building —Roger announced, standing in the middle of the semi-circle the neighbors formed—. To the tenants —he informed, aiming at Jungkook and Y/n—: the owners of your places were already informed about this, so you don't need to worry about anything.
—Then why are we here? —Jungkook mumbled, making Y/n roll her eyes.
—While the works take place, I recommend you find a place to live for two days. Although —he interrupted, as soon as he was aware of the reaction of all the neighbors—, I suggest doing something else so it impacts everyone as less as possible. We'll start with all the B apartments, since it seems like the pipes are worse on that side of the building.
—And what about the As? —one of the old ladies quickly interrupted.
—Let me get there —Roger asked—. To those who have space, I ask for some cooperation to receive the neighbors on the B, and vice versa when it's turn for the As to go through those same works.
Jungkook's back, which was lazily supported against the wall, went straight after he heard that idea.
—That way barely anyone will have to mobilize anywhere else, which can be a headache for those who work nearby. Like, for example, the two ladies on the 1B go to the 1A since there's only one person living there, and such. The families, in the 5B and the 2B will be mobilized to a hotel meanwhile, and the ones on the 4A will be when it's their turn as well. Let's make it easy for everyone, can we?
Y/n could feel Jungkook's eyes on her, and she knew him for long enough to picture that shaped, that looked like a smirk, aimed at her direction after he heard the news. Of course he was rejoicing on what was going on and was already planning on benefiting from it.
Having him living in front of her was already a big headache, but she couldn't imagine how painful it'd be to be forced to see his face before leaving her place and after coming back from work.
It sounded like the worst of the tortures.
His steps sounded light, almost rhythmic, as he walked the stairs behind her from up close. It was a mistake thinking he wouldn't talk if she just pretended he wasn't there.
—When can I move in?
—What? —Y/n turned to him, keys in her hand as she was about to open her door.
—You heard Roger. There will be works done in my place, and I can't stay here while they're done. If you're a good neighbor, you'll let me stay until it's all done.
Y/n's eyes squinted at that comment, almost laughing on his face with that comment. Trying to reach for a good neighbor's sense, as if he had been a good one was the biggest joke she had heard in days.
—If I remember correctly, he said it was up to each neighbor whether they wanted to take someone in or not.
—Don't you want me in?
