PERSONALITY:
Lysa is firecly loyal to her family and is not afraid to do what it takes to protect her children, even going so far as to marry Jaime Lannister to simply stay alive. At first she didn't wanat to be married to Aenar Targaryen and into the Targaryen Dynsaty. But by the time of Roberts Rebellion she was unconditionally loyal to House Targaryen.
During Robert's Rebellion she proved that she could hold her own, listening to everything her husband had taught her. Lysa is also a very clever and strategic individual as she managed to convince everyone that she and Aenar hated each other, just so she could stay alive.
She is utterly willing to betray anyone to protect her own. However she is also loyal to her birth house, House Bolton to a fault.
Although she is well aware of her station and the power she holds, she can also be quite hot headed and able to scheme against everyone and not be found out for it. This was demonstrated when after years she took her revenge against the Baratheons for Roberts Rebellion, by helping Olenna Tyrell kill Joffrey.
Lysa liked to pretend to people that she had forgotten all about Roberts Rebellion and what had happened in those nights, and that she is happy with her current life, even though she is well aware that she was only allowed to live and stay because of her ruse and the fact that Robert could use her against the North should he want. However her flaw is she hides that deep inside, not being able to even look at Gregor Clegane, the man who killed her husband and killed her closest friend, Elia Martell.
As well as being a very cunning individual, able to see the consequences and outcomes of her plans she is also one of the most compassionate people in court. The people of Kings Landing named her 'The Queen Who Should've Been' which angers Cersei Lannister to no end. Her compassion is also shown when she took Rhaenys Targaryen after the murder of her mother and raised her as her own, making everyone believe that she was her bastard, to avoid Rhaenys being killed.
The loyalty and the defence of her children are always at the forefront of Lysa's mind. She never stopped thinking about Jaehaerys, who was taken from Dragonstone alongside Daenerys and Viserys. Lysa knows that Jaehaera was somewhat scarred from the events of Roberts Rebellion and would never let anyone say a bad word against her. She would never get frustrated by her faults and her difficult socialising and communication and her general disinterest in getting involved in court. Lysa is also loyal to her brother Roose to a fault, as he is the only member of her family who tried to fight to bring her back to the North after the Baratheon's took the throne.
