"Do you have to put up with this a lot?" Katy asked me. I was mostly unfocused, keeping my mind off of the slobbering mess rolling around next to me.
"Mmm hmm," I eventually replied. "Sebastian loves a drink, maybe a little too much, but as you can see, he can't handle his alcohol very well."
Katy laughed. "Well, apparently, neither can Daisy,"
I could hear giggling, and I felt like I would rather stab myself in the face than look, but I did. Sebastian and Daisy were rolling around on the floor, lips crashing together and tongues down each other's throats. I grunted distastefully and Katy laughed. "We'd better separate them before things go too far," I suggested.
Katy scoffed. "It's not new territory for them."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You mean you don't know?"
"Don't know what?"
"I thought Sebastian told you everything."
I turned to face the writing mess of flailing limbs on the floor. They were too immersed with each other to even realise that we were speaking about them. "So did I."
Katy sighed. "Sebastian and Daisy, you know, got it on the night of Sebastian's birthday."
My eyes widened. "When we were all downstairs?"
Katy nodded.
I didn't know how to feel. One part of me felt betrayed. Sebastian and I had been there for each other through thick and thin, no matter what. We had never once kept a secret from each other, no matter how small. I couldn't figure out why he wouldn't want to tell me. Another part of me felt almost envious. Maybe it was because Sebastian actually had someone to drunkenly make out with, or maybe I felt like Daisy was stealing Sebastian away from me. Either way, I was definitely jealous, but I couldn't figure out why.
"Are you okay?" Katy asked me and I snapped out of my daydream.
"Um... yeah. Yeah, I'm fine," I lied. I felt like crying. "Why don't you take Daisy back to your tent before they ruin my sleeping bags."
Katy smiled warmly at me and gently pulled Daisy from on top of Sebastian. Daisy staggered a little as Katy lead her out of the tent. Katy waved me goodbye as she exited and I smiled back at her, but it was half-hearted.
"That was nice," Sebastian slurred from beside me. I turned and saw that during his escapades, his shirt had somehow become removed.
"Do you mind putting your shirt on?" I said to him as I rolled over and pulled the sleeping bag tighter around me.
"Did I ever tell you that I love you?" Sebastian said to me. I turned over and I was met with Sebastian, face to face. I didn't take the comment to heart because I was certain that was something drunk guys said all the time. "I love you, too," I replied, closing my eyes and preparing to go to sleep.
"I mean, I really love you," Sebastian continued. "Like someone loves their dog, or their favourite coat."
"That's nice, Seb," I said. "Now go to sleep."
